Horace Meat & Fish — Local services in North Miami Beach

If I could give this establishment a -100 I would.

On May 18th, 2025 Haitian Flag Day I visited Horace Meat Market to pick up a few items. I shop there often, sometimes weekly, because it's a local store that appears to cater to the Haitian community, which I am proudly part of.

While shopping alongside many other Haitian customers, I noticed that the music playing in the store was extremely loud and not reflective of the occasion. I respectfully approached one of the male employees and asked if he knew it was Haitian Flag Day, especially since the store was decorated with Haitian colors and symbols. I suggested that it would be nice to play some Haitian music in celebration, as the vast majority of the customers are Haitian.

To my surprise, he responded in a very dismissive and hostile way, saying he didn’t care and would play whatever he wanted. His aggressive attitude shocked me, especially since I was simply offering a suggestion that aligned with the store’s customer base and cultural theme.

This experience was truly eye-opening. I want to encourage our Haitian-American community to come together and be more mindful of where we spend our money. We should not continue to support businesses that benefit from our culture and our dollars but show no respect or care for us in return.

To the Haitian-American community: we deserve better, and we can do better. What we tolerate is what will continue and that is disappointing, especially from a business...

I visited this location today everyone in the meat section were extremely friendly. I went to checkout and my cashier was also very friendly. While I was checking out I sneezed and the cashier at the next register named Jessica turned to me very rudely said “wear a mask” I confronted her about her remark and attitude. After requesting to speak to someone from management about being asked to wear a mask for sneezing she then lied and stated that she needed to wear a mask even though she was not wearing a mask herself. This interaction was very appalling to me because not only was an employee imposing a mask mandate that was no longer active, she was not aware of my medical condition, I had no sign of illness and she created an embarrassing situation for me and my family because other shoppers stopped to look at us. She lied about the interaction when I requested to speak to someone and she did not take any type of accountability for her action during her...

Well, it was my first time shopping here at this store and I must say they have some great prices I found that there avocados are so huge and they are so delicious I don't think anybody in the area can beat them. also they had a very good variety of different raw meats, the store is quite fat with good but they were very friendly and very accommodating I will shop here again because of the good quality of the items that I needed. Parking is kind of tight at this establishment. I hope my comments help if it does give me a like, thanks ahead of time.
