UPDATE: I am very confused. Did this place close? And now it's some run of the mill, focus-less latin place? Why? Also. Why is Mazzat's menus and dishes still on the highlighted section? It appears the new owners just change the name and kept all the reviews and ratings. Underhanded, disingenuous. I'll be changing my rating to reflect this.
What a terrible shame. This place was world-class. I remember seeing a couple coming in and the man asking if they served beer. Upon being told "no" they left immediately and robbed themselves of an amazing experience he probably wouldn't have appreciated anyway. That poor woman. Wanted to try something new but he braindead joyless husband... ugh. It's people like that.
Is it clear that I'm upset? Because I am.
-when it was Mazzat- We are privileged to have a restaurant of this caliber in Miami. The flavors and textures of everything we ordered were absolutely incredible. Throughout the entire meal the conversations at the table were all about how wonderful the food was. While everything was absolutely delicious, the most shocking thing we had was the yellow rice. I have no idea how they achieved that flavor but it was the most memorable and talked about item weeks after our visit. Truly...
Read moreI finally stopped by Osman Restaurant after passing it almost daily, and I was excited to try it out—especially with my mom, who loves Honduran food. I ordered a baleada with only beans and mantequilla, specifically asked for no cheese… but it came with cheese and no mantequilla. A bit disappointing.
We also ordered two sopas de res. The flavor was amazing—rich and comforting—but unfortunately, the potatoes and carrots were undercooked. My mom, being a good sport, said “We eat raw carrots anyway,” and just cut around them. I did the same, but raw potatoes are a different story. That part was a miss.
As a former restaurant manager with experience opening four locations across the city, I know things happen. I will say the bathroom was clean (huge plus!), but the overall space needs a little more love and definitely better ventilation—the smell inside was a bit stuffy.
Overall, there’s potential here, and I’d be willing to give it another try, especially since the flavor of the soup was on point. Hopefully, just a few improvements can make a...
Read moreThis place is very disappointing especially because I’m from Honduras. Every single time I come and support it’s always the same thing. I called and placed an order over the phone and when I came the 3 ladies was looking at each other lost like they didn’t know anything, that was the first thing I speak fluent Spanish so the language barrier is not the issue. Then the waitress eating in front of the customers which looks so unprofessional, if it’s your lunch time sit at a table or something eating in front of your customers is low customer service. The pricing is insane for a baleada 🤦🏽♀️ I would rather drive down south to get executive customer service. I hope it gets better or train your waitresses to be more professional and to remember orders that was placed over the phone. I’ve recommended this place to a lot of family and friends and now I’m very disappointed. Please hire better people so your business can continue to flourish and we can continue to come and buy food....
