UPDATE: I am very confused. Did this place close? And now it's some run of the mill, focus-less latin place? Why? Also. Why is Mazzat's menus and dishes still on the highlighted section? It appears the new owners just change the name and kept all the reviews and ratings. Underhanded, disingenuous. I'll be changing my rating to reflect this.

What a terrible shame. This place was world-class. I remember seeing a couple coming in and the man asking if they served beer. Upon being told "no" they left immediately and robbed themselves of an amazing experience he probably wouldn't have appreciated anyway. That poor woman. Wanted to try something new but he braindead joyless husband... ugh. It's people like that.

Is it clear that I'm upset? Because I am.

-when it was Mazzat- We are privileged to have a restaurant of this caliber in Miami. The flavors and textures of everything we ordered were absolutely incredible. Throughout the entire meal the conversations at the table were all about how wonderful the food was. While everything was absolutely delicious, the most shocking thing we had was the yellow rice. I have no idea how they achieved that flavor but it was the most memorable and talked about item weeks after our visit. Truly exceptional.
