If you enjoy being ambushed mid-class about socks and pushed into buying things you didn’t agree to—JetSet Pilates is for you.
I’ve been doing Pilates for 10 years. I have tons of grip socks at home. I just didn’t bring them because—shockingly—nowhere on their MindBody listing where I bought my class says they’re mandatory.
There was zero mention at check-in either. The girl at the front desk? Completely lost. She didn’t say a word about socks even though apparently it’s this huge deal for them.
So I go into class barefoot, like I’ve done in many other studios. Twenty minutes in, the instructor (who wasn’t exactly warm or welcoming to begin with) suddenly stops me to say I need socks. You’re just realizing now? Fine. I put some on—non-grippy ones I had in my bag. She wasn’t happy with that either.
Then—ten minutes later—she walks up with a pair of their branded socks in her hand mid-class and basically pressures me to buy them. At that point, I was done. I left.
Look, this isn’t about socks. It’s about the lack of clear communication, the rudeness, and the weird energy of being bullied into a purchase mid-exercise.
I ended up leaving the class early. Thankfully, I spoke with the owner afterward, and she was very kind and refunded me. Still, I wanted to leave this review for anyone else who may not like being put in that situation. If you don’t appreciate being caught off guard and pressured mid-class, just be aware.
Nevertheless my husband heard the instructor say afterwards that that happens to her every time. So this is a recurring thing at...
Read moreReformer Pilates and all variations of it can be quite intimidating and elitist. I took a chance and joined as a member in January, not having taken a single reformer class in over 6 years and having not worked out in over 2. I’m so glad I took the leap as this studio has been so welcoming. The classes are the perfect amount of challenging for me. Overall all the instructors are pretty great but Sophia stands out in particular. She is so kind and open to questions. She takes the time to learn your name and encourage you and help you through out class. I look forward to her class...
Read moreLoved this place from the first class. Starting with friendly front desk, to clean space and equipment to instructors and even the friendly/easy to use app. All around great experience. I took classes with instructors Naomi and Noelle and they were both wonderful. As a beginner I was worried to try out pilates, but I didn't feel lost or that I don't fit in, because instructors were friendly and thorough at explaining/showing/correcting/ guiding the class through each of the exercises. Great work out, I definately felt challenged, but loved it. Nice...
