My daughter's party was May 13. The place is great for young children to have a good time, however, for a birthday party I wouldn't be a returning customer. Some of the things on the playground were broken, including the nets for "safety". Someone should be in charge of inspecting the playground for these things often, clearly that's not the case.
It's a 3 hour party. The Balloon decoration and table set up was nice. There are certain rules they have that make no sense and they have no flexibility for paying customers. After all, this is my child's birthday. For example, you are allowed to bring outside food but they don't allow any kind of food warmers for safety reasons. So how do you keep things warm? I can understand things with flame, but then why not allow electric food warmers if it'll be kept on the food station? They don't offer an alternative like maybe even keeping the food in an oven for you until it is time to serve. Why not include a waiver for things like this like other places do? So although they allow outside food for the party, indirectly you are forced to offer only finger foods or cold food options to your guests. They don't allow the party candles used in restaurants on cakes, only the traditional simple candles. Thank God I had a plan B since the food warmers were already an issue. The pizzas ordered that are included are only cheese, no other options are allowed and they can't confirm from where they're ordering it from because it's from whomever will deliver it quickest at the time of order. So pretty much, you'll know when it gets there. The pizzas also arrive super early whether you want it or not so they're kept there till you're ready and they're not kept warm.
And my biggest issue is they only allow you to set up 30min before. Initially it may seem ok because they reiterate that they help you with set up but, realistically speaking, you have to take into account that the 30min include the time you're unloading your car with all the stuff you want to set up. Including food, cake, and decorating the kids tables and cake table. The only way it is possible is that you bring help from a family or friend and that you keep it as simple as possible. Which by the way, they don't allow anyone else but the parents before the time of the party but they made an exception, I'm assuming because they saw we needed the help. We got there 40 min before and thankfully they let us in and we still finished 10min after the party "started", with help. They don't help you unload your car, thankfully, they had a Walgreens or cvs small cart to help me bring things inside, but it still took me a few trips with a toddler in the car waiting with my spouse. I spent $1500 for 3 hours. And I don't truly feel it wasn't worth it given the stress of things. And they don't offer an option to pay for an additional hour if you want which probably would of made things a lot better because everything seemed rushed. After all, kids want to enjoy the playground and you still want to make sure you're able to feed the kids and cut the cake and break the piñata. They did however have a person helping with serving throughout the party which was great but they pretty much kick you and your guests out immediately at the 3 hr mark because they need to set up for the next party. Overall a nice place but I would definitely not use them again for another party unless certain...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with my recent visit to Divers Mansion, formerly known as IGGY Playhouse. As a parent of a child with special needs, I had high hopes for a fun and inclusive experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations.
During our visit, my child was simply enjoying playing with the balls from the baby zone ball pit throughout the playhouse. However, I was taken aback when a female employee at the payment counter informed me that my child was not allowed to do so. When I explained that my child is on the spectrum, her response was insensitive and dismissive, stating that it didn't matter and my child still couldn't play with the balls. This lack of understanding and consideration for a child with special needs was disheartening, as a child playhouse should be a place where all children can have fun and feel included.
To make matters worse, another distressing incident occurred when my other child was attacked by a little girl in the baby zone. Despite bringing the situation to the attention of the same employee, I was met with a disappointing response. I was told that there was nothing they could do and that it was solely the responsibility of the parent to watch their child. Witnessing my two-year-old son and one-year-old baby girl being abused by another child was distressing, and it would have been appropriate for the staff to intervene or at least locate the girl's parents and request that they monitor their child's behavior.
It is disheartening to reflect on the fact that my children and I came to Divers Mansion with the intention of having a joyful experience, only to be insulted and mistreated. Spending $60 for such a negative and unpleasant experience is truly disheartening.
I strongly urge the management of Divers Mansion to address these issues promptly. It is essential for them to train their staff in sensitivity and inclusivity towards children with special needs and to establish protocols for handling incidents of aggression or harm among children. A child playhouse should be a place where children can thrive, and parents can feel at ease knowing their children are safe and well-cared for.
I sincerely hope that my feedback will lead to improvements at Divers Mansion, ensuring that all children and their families can have a positive and enjoyable experience in the future.
Thank you for considering...
Read moreThe place has a great playground. The staff is young and overall friendly. I do think it was a little strange that no one cared that my car was blocked (I was in a regular parking spot, the other car parked right behind me, in the drivewAy/not in a parking spot) and when I asked the staff for help, they directed me to "security" (a 300+lbs person w limited interest and no initiative) who directed me to whom I assume was the father of the birthday child from the separate party going on (he never told me who he was, I suppose he could be the owner or manager) who rudely and repeatedly in broken English told me it was not his job or responsibility to help me and that he was busy but ultimate made a vague attempt to help. In the meantime, the security guard had located the owner of the illegally parked car (I know this is Miami but this is by far the most ridiculous parking I've seen here) by asking random people if it was their car (my suggestion had been to turn off the music and via loudspeaker ask for the driver). A woman then moved her car. No explanation, no apology. If I have nowhere else to take my kids, I would consider going again but it is interesting that they apparently need a security guard, yet something as simple as this is not a problem they consider important. If it indeed was the owner I spoke to, then I would not go back. He was extremely unpleasant and rude, and his English was poor enough that intelligent conversation was prohibited. From the other reviews I suspect the "man" I spoke to today was Juan. He fits the description of poorly behaved and less than average intelligence. It is also interesting that the owner only responds to the positive reviews. Not the negative ones. Good example of poor management. Other indoor playgrounds have pleasant staff, not sure why such a "missing link" person needs to be in charge (really anywhere) but particularly where children are. In summary; we tried this place despite many negative reviews. This is the only indoor playground where I felt really poorly treated and I doubt we'll return. Also don't understand why they sell candy, in particular to this extent, and display in eye height of all children able to...
