We drove thirty minutes just to try this famed Thai restaurant for the first time. Totally worth the drive! We were so excited about the food that we even forgot to take pictures, so you’ll just have to take my (and my fellow reviewers’) word for it.
They have some of the best drunken noodles (pad kee mow) I’ve had in any restaurant. For some reason, other restaurants’ pad kee mow are sweet and greasy, but Ricky’s is bursting with flavor and just absolutely delicious. I ordered mine with beef and tofu, served medium spicy.
My SO ordered the volcano seafood which was filled with shrimp, squid and mussels. We loved that the veggies were crisp and not soggy. Seems like they add it towards the end rather than letting it sit in the heat for too long. Also comes with a side of white rice. So yummy!
I also ordered the beef noodle soup to eat this morning. Haven’t tried it yet, but based on the amazing dinner we had last night, I don’t expect anything less.
If all it takes is a thirty minute drive for me to eat delicious Thai food and support a family-owned restaurant during this crisis, I have no problem doing that at all. Support local (and try to order from them directly...

We ordered beef panang, pad woon sen and laarb with beef steak. Everything was full of flavor and with hearty portions. Family style sharing is recommended because of the amazing portions. I grew up with a blended family with Thai influneces, and this was very close to the dishes I've had growing up. If I could offer any feedback, it would be to make the Panang with a little more nutty taste, it was a little sweeter for my liking but still delicious. The pad wood sen was great, but would have liked lime wedges served with it to squeeze over it. For both dishes, I felt the protein was more "boiled" as it wasn't tender. If the meat was simmered in the curry or stir fried on a higher heat, the flavor and texture would make a huge difference.
I would love to see Yum Woon Sen added to the menu for those days when you want a cool (temp) and refreshing dish for those hotter days.
We almost didn't make it because there wasn't parking behind the bldg, but my husband circled around and we got lucky. There isn't much parking so be prepared to wait or walk a little farther.

Read moreThe atmosphere is really casual and family friendly. It's a small and very busy space. I can tell from everyone's faces that everyone is enjoying the food. The crowd is very diverse. It is somewhat low lighted which compliments the colors and Thai-themed art displays in the room.
I waited about 15 minutes for my food to arrive for takeout (which I expected). When it did arrive, the wonderful waiter signaled me and I left. Realizing that I forgot my drink, I turned back to go in immediately. To my surprise, the waiter was holding out my debit card to give to me. I was a bit embarrassed, but grateful and relieved that she found it before I got too far. The owner and staff are very friendly and caring. Might I add that she gave me a suggestion of some menu items which I appreciate.
I ordered the Duck Basil entree with a side of sticky rice and vegetable spring rolls. EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDINGLY delicious. The duck was succulent and crispy. Everything was well-seasoned. The spring rolls are probably the best I've had. The rice was fluffy and cooked to perfection.
I will be eating here...
