Read moreThis place is such a gem. I was attracted to this place by its natural aura, but once I was inside I knew why. This place is one of the few authentic restaurants of Miami that is now just a cash grab. There are details in the store that are unique and hand crafted, which I did not expect. The pricing of this restaurant is so justified as well. Many places are getting too expensive but both the food and drinks were reasonable. The owner Lea has a fantastic palate for wine and every bottle was carefully selected. I went in for lunch and only enjoyed the sweet bread appetizer (not bread, but the back of now’s neck).
Here is my review for the sweet bread:
Weirdly textured (in a good way). (My first time having sweet bread)
Sectors of fat and lean. Learn pieces have aggressive bite but not chew, kind of like the texture of kidney.
Differences in cut and thickness of pieces give the dish variety.
Comes with some potatoes and chimichurri but I highly recommend asking for some spicy chimichurri to go along with it! My server went above and beyond and had me try this even without my request (since I had no knowledge of it) and I’m so happy she did that.
In the side, I was served bread as an appetizer. Here is my review for the house bread:
Very light and consistent texture inside.
Salt adds great texture diversity and beauty to the eye.
Light toast on outside gives overall clean profile
I recommend having the crispier and saltier parts with the mother sauce, which has good acidity and stringent blend...
Read moreMy daughter, who works at Home Depot across the street from the motel that houses this restaurant, wanted to try it. I was proud of her taste in restaurants. This place is a winner. A bit expensive for what you get, but with terrific service. My kid recently turned 21 and I allowed her to choose the perfect wine to accompany our parillada for two, all meat. She chose a Malbec. Delicious! At previous Argentine-flavored restaurants, I am used to getting a brazier piled up with several cuts of beef, sausages, and notably, sweetbreads. This came on an elongated plate, not exactly piled up. The skirt steak was medium rare, as we like it. The short ribs came in a pair. Hers was all meat. Mine was half fat. I should give it a half-star for the food for that. The blood sausage was truly terrific, it had a bit of chile in the mix that picked it up a notch--not exactly hot, noticeably tasty. The appetizer was baked cheese with some sliced salami-type of sausage topped with cherry tomatoes. Delicious! To top off the meal, the owner stopped by our table to inquire about our meal. That kind of graciousness is absent from everywhere else. Our waiter was excellent. It's worth a...
