Carolina Reef — Local services in North Myrtle Beach

Stayed in 704. Right by the elevator. The bedroom window faces elevator and the light comes in the room. There are shutters but would be good to add room darkening curtains. The best thing and saving grace is the beautiful view and comfy blue adirandak chairs on the balcony. The tile floors were nice and the kitchen had some useful utensils, bowls, knives etc. Also had some paper towels and dishsoap which I appreciated. There were no dishtowels or rags. The floor was clean except under bed (nasty as most beach places). It could really use a deep clean. Vents were thick with dust and the ceiling vent in the bathroom had lots of chunks of dust in it. A little mold growing around the air vent in bathroom. The keys were difficult to use and I stopped using the deadbolt when I went out as it took so many tries to unlock it. I was worried I wouldn't get back in. A keyless entry like some of the other rooms have would be nice. There were two very sandy body boards in the tiny bedroom closet that I took out and cleaned and put on the balcony for the duration of my stay as there was no room for my suitcase with them in there. There is really no space for bags, suitcases...closet is tiny and had vacuum in it. Chest of drawers shallow. The bed is queen (not king as Condo World advertises). The front door only opens about 2/3 of the way due to the refrigerator. There are very dim lamps in the bedroom. The bedroom ceiling has dark stains from either smoke, dust or mold. This is advertised as updated but really only the floors and kitchen backsplash and counters and sink. Bathroom seems original. The stove seems original. It had old crusty burners and one was broken in half. Microwave seemed new. I loved the balcony and the view and that made the week worthwhile. Unfortunately the people above us in 804 smoked all week on the balcony so there were times I was eating breakfast or lunch on the balcony and had to endure the nasty smoke. The location was great for me as I had family staying 5 condos down the beach and I was able to walk there and spend time with them. For convenience and the view, I might consider staying here again. This unit (301) is in terrible condition. It is in need of a very deep cleaning. We paid almost $1,400 to stay here for the week. The only reason I gave it one star was for the location. The floors in the bathrooms are filthy. The dining area has seating that is filthy with stains all over the seats as shown in the pictures. What they call a closet in the second bedroom is storage for cleaning supplies and extra paint and a dirty mop. As shown in the pictures. The vanities in the bathroom come up to about mid thigh so that you have to bend over to brush your teeth or wash your hands. The dishwasher has not been installed properly it sticks out on the right side and leaks when you run it. The shower pressure was great. The location is great as it sits right on the beach. And the pool was very nice. This unit is in poor poor condition and needs to be updated and cleaned. We can rent in other places for the same amount and have a clean unit with updated appliances in good...

Both condos my family rented were dirty upon arrival. Previous renters left clothes in the dresser drawers that the cleaning staff did not remove, Smashed fly on the wall, 3" long dust bunny hanging from the curtains, hair from someone else in a "supposedly clean" shower tub, visible black mold around AC vent. Unswept floors left by the "cleaning" crew. The list goes on but pictures say a thousand words.

My mother has booked condos for many years with Elliot Rentals and at Carolina Reef, however for the past 2 years the condos have been dirty upon arrival. This means we get to drive 10-13 hours to arrive at our destination and then clean the vacation condo we are to stay in before we can even begin to start our vacation, UNACCEPTABLE!! After hours customer service was VERY RUDE while taking the complaint about both condos not being clean upon arrival. We will NEVER rent Carolina Reef or use Elliott...
