Visitor to the area … didn’t look at reviews before hitting this place up but should have. Bought shrimp and produce from the old man there. Was getting suspicious when he dug into the shrimp with his bare, unwashed hands kept in a decades-old camping cooler.
He gets a “2” instead of a “1” because the produce was ok, but the shrimp turned out to be mushy and when I brought it back to him the following day for an exchange for some produce instead, he yelled at me and said I didn’t know how to cook it. Didn’t get a chance to point out that my wife is an actual chef who has cooked shrimp literally hundreds of times and knows what she’s doing.
He went on to continue berating me for a full minute without me really getting a word in edgewise until I walked away.

Read moreOld guy (operator) there is a lunatic. Yells at you for using a plastic bag ranting about they cost him money (while bragging he’s been there 40 years, 39 years too long in my book). Sells raw shrimp in 100 degree heat, then tells you he has no ice. Is NOT a local farmer as he says over the phone (retail produce boxes in a pile out back). Sets cones out everywhere - hard to park without running the stupid things over. 70 cents per ear of corn - kernels so small, wouldn’t...

He told her to pick out any candy she wanted as a birthday present! Very nice of him and made my daughter very happy! We will be buying all our produce from him on our next trip. Tomato's...
