My daughter and my son-in-law took my grand babies to the beach last week and decided to stop in at The Spice & Tea Exchange to find me some tea I might like to say Thank You for taking care of the doggies while they were at the beach. They bought me the Hazelnut Cookie Black Tea and the Strawberry Meadows Green Tea and I absolutely love it! The Strawberry one is my favorite! I have been searching for a strawberry tea ever since my mother passed away and a neighbor brought over some strawberry tea that I really liked. Finally my search is over. That Strawberry Meadows Green Tea is even better so thank you so much for what you all do. I will most assuredly be a repeat customer.

Today I stopped by The Spice & Tea Exchange, because... TEA!!! Carl was fabulous and very helpful. (Who doesn’t love a man who knows how Jean-Luc Picard takes his TSA.) They had every spice I ever dreamed of needing for specialty recipes. And... TEA!! I haven’t found a tea shop I love since Teavana was bought out by the big coffee franchise. I WILL order from them online when I’m back home and I WILL come back every time I’m in Myrtle Beach. I purchased a perfectly-brewed Spiced Ruby Cider Herbal Tea to drink now and loose tea to brew later.

Always friendly staff and wonderful products. I really like that they will steep a fresh tea for you. Always try something different. The lady that rang me up suggested combining the Nutty Chocolate Mate and Mocha Mushroom Herbal Tea. Oh my goodness this is good! Excellent suggestion. If you like coffee, tea, chocolate and hazelnut you must try this. So glad she suggested it.

BEWARE If you are a Black or Brown person, you will not have the same experience as White people. I was never greeted when I came in, I was NEVER asked if I needed anything, I was NEVER offered assistance. This would have been fine if this is the way everyone was treated, but it was not. The few people who came in after me were greeted, asked if they needed help, and were even offered suggestions. NOT A WORD WAS SAID TO ME. It wasn't until I was checking out that someone spoke to me. She asked if I was a rewards member and I said no. She never asked if I wanted to become one. I purchased my items and vowed never again to come back. The only reason I didn't leave was because I drove 2 hours to come specifically to this store because I purchased online before and I wanted to check out the store in-person. I had planned to spend alot more money than I actually did but after seeing how I was treated, I decided not too. Not only will I spend my money somewhere else, I would encourage anyone who wants to be treated the same as everyone else to do the same. This is a shame and the two women working there on 5/16/2025 at 12pm should be ashamed of their behavior. Especially the lady working behind the tea bar who intentionally greeted the White women who came in after me and asked them if they needed help. This same woman walked right past me. She did the same thing to my daughters who were on the other side of the store. I just wanted to let Black and Brown people know NOT to be deceived by the other comments about this store. Check out who is giving the review and you will understand why they had a different experience. Hopefully, this may prompt some change,...

My first experience of this place was upsetting. I was excited to find this store because I've been wanting to go the natural tea and herbs route and it was the first store I saw when looking for one. When me and my friend who is also a minority walked in and fell in love with the smell of the place. No one greeted us or even bothered to ask me and my friend what we were looking for but a lovely couple with a dog came in and were greeted with open arms and laughter. I will not bad mouth this place because it is some folks that do love it and but i do wish the workers would treat everybody the same no matter what...
