On July 8, 2025 two of us visited your Barefoot Landing location. The location and atmosphere were the only positives of our experience. While our server was very polite and friendly, the service was embarrassingly poor by all staff who waited on us. A second server/runner brought the steamed clams and said he will bring us plates which he never did, resulting in us having to ask our first server. We also had to ask our first server for silverware. She brought back packs of plastic silverware and told us all of the silverware is in the dishwasher which we found interesting considering the place was not crowded at all. She told us she will bring us clean silverware which never happened. After finishing the steamed clams, the bowl of butter and empty shells remained on the end of table for the remainder of our stay even after a third server/runner came to our table. Regarding the food, it was below average. We have bought frozen seafood and prepared it ourselves to be much more enjoyable. We paid $20 for tasteless steamed clams and $26 for a dried out seafood combo thrown on top of a handful of fries. The overpriced seafood combo was pathetic. On top of it we had to pull it apart by hand because the plastic silverware was of no use. As we walked out we were sure to tell a family on their way in to turn around and find another place to eat. They were shocked when we shared our experience. We have since shared our experience with many locals and they were not surprised about the lack of quality in your establishment.
After originally sending the above email and getting no response, we went back to talk to a manager on July 11, 2025. He seemed to play things off and was good with his excuses referring to the service issues as coachable moments and that he would address these things in a staff meeting. He seemed to know what to say perhaps from having lots of experience having to do so. When we shared where we are from he changed the subject and told us that he lived in our home state for awhile and went back for a wedding. WHO CARES??!! He later explained the lack of real silverware may have occurred because maybe they were very crowded before we arrived. He displayed a lack of professionalism by explaining the poor service as a possible result of a language barrier among his staff. When he asked us if we would come back I assured him...
Read moreDon’t know if I have ever added a review for a restaurant in my life but this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Waiters and staff were nice but the manager was absolutely awful to deal with in our scenario.
Reserved a table for a group of 20 of us a week or two in advance for a trip we were taking together. Planned one big night out for dinner for everyone and chose this place. We had agreed in advance to hit a $1000 minimum ($50 a person) which isn’t too bad with drinks. The manager told us after we sat that we actually would have to spend $50 each on food alone and drinks wouldn’t be included. To put this in context the most expensive entree on the menu was $34 with everything else around $15-25 meaning EACH person would have to buy 2 entrees AT LEAST for us to hit this minimum payment.
Brought up our frustrations with the manager and he was no help and didn’t seem to care at all. This place was also absolutely empty, maybe we should we have just “cancelled” our reservation, got up walked out and turned back around and ask to be reseated so we didn’t have to double each of our food orders in addition to drinks? Very bizarre. When talking with the manager, the rest of our group was sat and not served until the hour and a half the ordeal was finally settled when a higher up told the manager he was wrong. Despite the long wait and our frustration, the manager was unapologetic and did nothing to comp us. If you’re looking to come eat at a restaurant in this area of Myrtle Beach, there are plenty of other big restaurants next to this place we tried out during the rest of our trip that were great!
Again, nothing against any of the staff besides the manager, they were great and very kind when they served us even though I’m sure they were equally as frustrated! Could have been an off night as they seem to get good reviews, was very disappointed...
Read moreI have been at this location dozens of times over the years and never had any issues with the staff. On May 31, 2025 I had a dinner reservation for party of six. When we got to the hostess station, one of the waitresses approached the hostess and made a statement to her that included F word before she stormed off. She was visibly upset about something. When they went to sit us down, I noticed that outside area was half empty so I asked our host if we can sit outside and he rudely responded “No” without any further explanation. Then he took us to a 4 person table, in the middle, close to the hostess station and the bathrooms. I told him that we had a party of 6 and not 4, so he pushed another table next to ours and then walked off, without saying anything else. His behavior was unusual and rude. Once we set down, we noticed that the table that he pushed over was very unstable so my wife went back to the hostess station and asked is we could move back one table and now she told my wife “No”, without any explanation, even though all other tables around us were empty. Because of this unprofessional behavior by Landshark staff and lack of any respect for their customers, we got up and left. I will not be paying to eat somewhere where I will be disrespected and uncomfortable.
I understand that restaurant staff deals with all kinds of customers and possibly could had a bad day before we came in, but that’s no excuse for behavior that they displayed. We were there less than 5 minutes and during that short amount of time, I witnessed 3 employees behaving in the manner that’s not fitting for restaurant staff. I am not asking for any special treatment but only for you to treat your customers the way you would like to be treated. This type of behavior explains why half of your restaurant was empty on Saturday night during...
