We came to the one show on July.1,2022. We were a little nervous because we have six kids and there ages are , two 17 year olds, a 15 year old, 12 year old, 7 year old and a 5 year old. We were worried that the older ones wouldn’t like it or either the little ones wouldn’t like it. But we all LOVED it!!! The music was amazing, the costumes were amazing, the man that did the juggling was awesome!! We truly loved this show! We were already talking about wanting to come back again as we were walking to our car . This was our first time ever coming to the Alabama theater and it definitely won’t be our last. Also our 12 year old is autistic, so we were really worried about how he would handle this. But he absolutely loved it!!! He has expressed to us that he wants to come back again!! Thank you for giving us such a beautiful, fun and exciting memory.
Update… June 2025, we came here to see the iconic show with our family and brought some of our employees as well!! We all had an outstanding time!! This show never gets old, they are always adding new music, new costumes. The people in the show have amazing energy!!! It’s such a blast!! But I know they had mentioned if we had any ideas to bring them up. And I think it would be super cool if the girls in the show could do the dance to thunderstruck like the Dallas cowboy cheerleaders!!! I know the band can play the music and I have no fought that the dancers could do it… but I think that would be amazing!!!! That’s my only suggestion. There’s nothing else I can think of. All the music and dances are awesome, everything is clean, nice AC to keep to cool from the heat outside. They have drinks and snacks, everyone is super friendly!!! So you guys have it nailed down with all that!! But I am currently watching the Netflix series on the Dallas cowboy cheerleaders and immediately thought of this show!! I know they can’t do a six minute dance but even 2-3 minutes would be...

IF music song-and-dance review type shows are your thing, like they are me and my kids', then it doesn't get any better than ICONIC at Alabama Theatre.
IF they are not your thing at all, like my wife, you may still love ICONIC because the show was so great she loved it the most out of all of us and she almost never likes these types of shows.
One: The Show at Alabama Theatre was basically my childhood during our family vacations to Myrtle. We saw it during its premiere run in 2001 and many times after. I felt like Greg and Grant were friends LOL (iykyk).
Now that I have a family of my own, I wanted to keep the spirit and tradition alive by bringing my son and daughter to ICONIC tonight. It was spectacular and brought back so many memories, I became emotional watching my young kids delight in the performances by this incredibly talented cast.
To be frank, there were only about 200 of us in attendance tonight, but you'd never know by the casts' performances. There is so much talent on that stage, they deserve a sold-out theater every night.
I'm telling you to give ICONIC a chance. Alabama Theatre needs to survive for generations to come. If my parents were still alive, I know they would revel in delight seeing my kids love tonight's show.
My wife said, based on just the description of the show and her perception, "I never would have bought tickets to this show" but it will be the highlight of our vacation.
I urge you, if you're on the fence, to check it out.
Prices are reasonable for the quality of talent and production.
My kids were free.
The memories were priceless.
Thanks, ICONIC, for letting me keep my family's tradition alive. And...
Read moreJust to be clear I’m reviewing the Alabama House show called ICONIC that you will see everywhere! So here is my question…Whose responsible for the shows energy? The audiences engagement in the performers OR the Performers pumping up the audience? Chicken or the Egg kinda question…I will also concede that it is March and the audience was 85% 60+ years old and wasn’t exactly toe tapping along to Lady Gaga.
I ask because the opening of this show is FLAT! This show could use a good warm up pre show act or something to ignite a fire. Basically the ICONIC show is a land based Carnival Cruise performance. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with a good cruise performance and many cast members had that on their resumes.
The acts were great, and the singing was great, and the juggler comedian was great, the staff at the theater were great, and the band was great but the overall show was just a bunch of cover songs and dance choreography. There was no theme or connection to any of the songs just throw a dart and make up a routine.
At the End of the Day I respect the performers and musicians, but it was a Variety show just above an amusement park show. The Alabama Theater itself was beautiful and spacious with not a bad seat in the house! One saving grace was that 16 and under were free (for our two girls) saving us $100 on the $50 price tag. Otherwise I would have been a little disappointed in dropping $200 without the Lido...
