Just got down to the beach and ordered pizza at 745pm. They said it would be delivered in a hour so I gave them my cell phone number and the number was repeated back to me. After an hour and 15 minutes I called and they said the pizza was already in route. So I am waiting with my wife and 2 kids, one 5 and one 7, who have been pretty patient at this point and hungry. Around 930 the pizza is still not here. My wife called, they must have seen the number on caller ID cause she told her to hold and the manager came to the phone. She explained the situation to him and he said his driver was having a hard time finding the place. She asked him if he had my number and he said yes, so she asked why didn't the driver call and he said he don't know, let him find out. Then he put her on hold and left her on hold for a while before she finally hung the phone up. Then I called back and told them I had a delivery out and he said the driver has been trying to get a hold of me for a long time, maybe the driver had the wrong number. I told him no one has tried to call my phone and that they repeated the number back to me and to not worry about the order . This is ridiculous and the manager was even rude to my wife like it was our fault the pizza wasn't there. A good business owner would have stepped up and admitted that they were in the wrong. I have worked for the public so I know how it can be and the customer is not always right but this is not one of those cases. I gave it 1 star because I couldn't go no lower. I will never do business with them again and will make sure I let people know about my...
Read moreMy husband had been craving UCP for quite a while. We love going to Barefoot Landing however we are true blue locals. So during the summer we try to avoid going down during tourist season with all the traffic. Nothing against the tourist, just it seems the older I get the shorter my temper gets. And it's not with tourists most times it's just with people in general that's why I stay home. However, we actually made it in and YES we were one of THOSE couples who came in an hour before closing time (in our defense though we thought they were going to be open until 11:00p.m. according to the hours on Google.) When I realized the closing time I thought everyone should be tired, cranky, and angry to see us even dare to enter the door. But to our surprise, everyone in UCP greeted us with a smile. I noticed a few other larger parties and they're eating so I had already predetermined that the food was going to be sloppy thrown together and rushed just to get us out the door. Again, I guess the word assumed is true to its 3 letter definition, I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was amazing, the people were amazing, all the staff that we came across, even with the busy day I knew they had even the bathrooms were clean. So next time you're out make sure you decide to eat Ultimate California Pizza pre-order, dine-in, or take out make sure you thank ($$$$) them a lot because they are working really hard to deliver great service, even to some of us who are...
Read moreI recently visited this establishment for a girl scout meeting for my daughter's troop. I was excited they provide gluten-free and cauliflower crusted pizza as I have celiac disease. Once there I asked our waitress if they had a separate area they made these or used "gluten-free" utensils to cook them as cross contact gets me very sick. Unfortunately they do not so I opted to do something different. I asked the waitress some of the ingredients in few dishes so I could pick what was safe to for me to eat.  I finally ordered the Buffalo chicken dip with corn chips. I quickly realized I needed to ask the brand as some have wheat added. I asked the waitress and she went to the back. The cook then came out and said "you have questions about gluten-free stuff" to which I responded with "Well kind of, I have celiac disease and...." He very rudely and hatefully interrupted me saying "yea we can't accommodate you"
I was completely mortified and embarrassed at the way he said this to me. I'm still new to this disease so even asking questions gives me anxiety.
While I realize restaurants cannot always accommodate allergies, the fact this guy said it the way he did was completely unacceptable. Especially because he didn't even let me finish my sentence which was only to ask the brand of chips to make sure I was going to be safe.
Very...
