I donāt normally write bad reviews if I donāt like a place, but I really feel Iāve been fleeced here. Long review, TLDR included at bottom.
I brought a malfunctioning 1980ās Fisher receiver in to be diagnosed. I was told that it would cost 80$ to have it checked out, and if I wanted to go ahead with the repair I could put that 80$ toward the cost.
After two weeks I called for an update but I was told it could take up to four weeks as they were busy. I called two weeks later to learn it was on the techās bench. I called the next week and got the same response, heāll call you. I called after another week, and then another to the same response.
Two months after the original drop off I had not received a call from them. I called again, and was informed my receiver was ready⦠I was confused and asked what they meant. Apparently repairs had been done and I was to pick up the receiver.
Thinking maybe the cost of repairs was inexpensive enough that the 80$ would cover it, I returned to pick up my receiver. Upon arrival I was informed the repair would cost me an additional 250$. Needless to say I was flattened. I had not any word about what was wrong with the device and would not have agreed to pay such an exorbitant amount.
I asked for an itemized receipt as a reference so I could know the parts that were replaced and I received a photocopy of the top half of a paper stating the amount they wanted with no parts list. It was a general description of labor.
After some haggling I got them down to 200 if I paid cash. I regrettably acquiesced and returned and paid them for the receiver. I was told there was a one month guarantee for the work done.
Two days after getting it home and one day of use, the same problem occurred. I called them and was advised to bring it back in.
I brought it back in. After a week I called, was informed they hadnāt gotten to it yet. The following week they called me (for the first time) and informed me it was ready. Upon arrival I was informed it would be an additional 60$. I did not contain my disappointment after arguing for the better part of a half hour citing their own guarantee I was able to take it home without additional payment.
I took it home and hooked it up and there was still no sound. I encountered the same problem. I called them and informed them, but I will not be returning for them to charge me more money and take me for the fool Iāve been. Iām incredibly disappointed and aghast that a business could be run in such a way.
TLDR; I paid nearly 300$ for a repair that I didnāt agree to, only to encounter the same problem twice more. The repairs didnāt work, their communication is non-existent, and their records shady. Do not give them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook in a 5yr old subwoofer circuit board in to get a simple diode. I was greeted by a very warm/friendly elderly gentleman who proceeded to help me. You can tell he was genuinely interested in electronics and helping me. As I had some questions, he handed it off to one of the Techs --- Mike --- Mike was also very friendly and extremely knowledgeable in his skill going by his explanations he was giving me. Not only did he confirm the diode was bad but he noticed a surface mount resistor had gone bad too... which he showed me using a magnifying glass. He was very noticeable. By this time, i was there approx 1/2 hr at which time I said to him, can you please fix this for me right away... He started to work on the board...tested and fixed it (the Power LED was on again) I was expecting this to cost me around $50 with parts. When i received the bill,,,,i was PLEASANTLY surprised! $29!!! for an hour's work!!!! where you gonna find that!!!! took home my subwoofer, plugged it in...and bamn ... it works like new!!!!! thank you GREENBROOK ELECTRONICS!!!! HIGHLY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor repair work stay FAR away from this place. They donāt do in house repairs. All equipment is repaired by an Asian guy (that doesnāt speak English) in his basement where he resides. Where ever that is. He comes goes and goes every 2 weeks, with customers equipment. Greenbrook electronics has no communication with him until he comes back after two weeks so youāll never get an update on your device that you need fixed. I dropped off an amplifier, Greenbrook electronics had it for four months⦠so I thought. I got the run around every time I called for an Update. They just constantly lied to me.Then they finally told me about the repair guy that fixes there customers equipment. So I asked for it back. It took two more weeks to get it back UNFIXED. And when I picked it up, the guy in the office was very rude and disrespectful to me. Donāt waste your time. Found a guy in Manville. He had it fixed under 2 weeks. Please tell your customers the truth...
