Unreliable! Went to sugar joy and ordered "Braso de Mercedes" (a special cake) on Christmas Eve. We ran into a friend that same day, who said when he was there to pick up his order, he didn't get all of it "because the lady who makes it didn't show up to work." Hmmm thought it was odd but still proceeded to order. They took the order, didn't say it was going to be a problem. Fast forward to a week later... to today New Years Eve. Called Sugar Joy to follow up and was told that "the lady who makes them didn't make anything because she went to work somewhere else... but they have other cakes"?!?! Kinda the same story from our friend a week ago. Couldn't they have called??? Bad for business to not tell your customers ahead of time to make other plans. Really upsetting. Beware of ordering from here. Ok to come to the store to pick up what they have already made, but don't count on them to have the brains to call you if there is a problem with...

I've been ordering cake for all my daughter's birthday cake, (except my 2nd one, I will someday) and still amaze me how perfectly well made my customize cake and good at the same. Then I heard she is opening her own bakery store, I couldn't wait to see and try All her baked goods. So when she opened her store, my family and I went to stop by. The Spanish bread is to die for, it's very light and very soft and its very very delicious, unlike to the store the Spanish bread they sell is either dry or too sweet. I came across Sugar Joy Bakehouse’s Ube Cheese Pandesal and Hopia (Baboy) in Asian Food Market in Marlboro. I love savory-sweet baked goods so I had to give both a try. The ube bun is nothing like the fresh ones I’ve had from Hawaii, but they are still pretty tasty. The Hopia (Baboy), OMG. I took one bite and thought, “Wow.” My fiancé loves this too.
