Gertrude Hawk Chocolates — Local services in North Plainfield

As a child I sold Gertrude Hawk from a catalog to raise money for my school, today I had a hankering for some chocolate and lo and behold I found this brick and mortar store! As I entered I saw racks upon racks of the finest milk chocolate and mixed with the dead silence of no music playing I was able to concentrate on what I should select. The hawk ladies were so very helpful, if you combined the atmosphere they are the librarians of chocolate. I picked out a few bags of nonpareils (the price has skyrocketed though), a couple chocolate dinosaurs stuffed with peanut butter (rawr), and some white chocolate carrots (I only thought that was sold during Easter), but Easter candy in December, sign me up! Going to the check out both of the librarians of chocolate wanted to ring me up, left register or right register, decisions decisions, I went to the right register. They asked me if I had a VIP phone number with the store, which I did not, but due to my milling about this chocolate factory from heaven I did not have the time to start an account with them. We went here for chocolate strawberries on a Sunday, they were out; that was not a problem. We spent $30 something on random chocolates. When i got home and read the ingredients list a little closer, I was in shock; for starters, it is the longest list of ingredients on chocolate i’ve ever seen. Stuff like hydrogenated oils, natural and artificial flavors which both are synthetic btw, an insane about of different added colors, fake sugars, soy, gums and wax.
