I've shopped this location many, many times over the years. I'm not sure if management or ownership has changed hands recently, but it's just not the same.
In the last 2 months, I've visited 3 times (don't judge me) and each time was more lackluster than the last. No greetings, no offers to help, just disdainful eyes watching as you roam the aisles.
This last and I do mean LAST visit did it for me. I walked in last night to try and find some peanut butter whiskey to try. There were 3 people behind the counter. Two older males and a woman on the register. Both men were, I can only assume, teaching or guiding her on the functionality of the system. One walked away and I caught his eye as he was sitting. I asked if he could help me. He nodded yes but didn't move. I asked about the whiskey and he said it's there, in front of you. I didn't see it, but I also don't work there and didn't know what I was looking for. I looked at the shelf, then him...he pointed to what seemed like me and said next to the Crown...I still didn't see it. I asked, "really"? The other man came from behind the counter and touched the bottle (it was in front of me but the label was somewhat turned to the side and hidden. I asked if that was the only one they had and he pointed to another. I asked if he'd ever tried them. He responded in a manner that made me feel like he was offended by my question. "No, I do not drink. But People but it a lot. They always buy it. That's how I know its good". Well ok then. No additional conversation, he just walked away.
I only made the purchase because there is no other store along my route home that would likely have this delight. Skrewball PB whiskey is delicious BTW. The customer service here, not so much.
If you need a quick bottle or beer...I guess go ahead. But of you're interested in customer service, knowledgeable friendly staff, greetings, feeling welcome, and smiling faces, skip...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey have a comprehensive selection of beer, wine, all kinds of liquor/alcohol- several choices. It almost makes your head spin because you don't know which one is the best at times, but the employees are super helpful and actually have little taste testers for certain beverages (such a certain wines and certain beers) and the prices are the lowest of any place around. It's definitely worth a trip, even to browse, so you know what selections they offer, if & when you may require some adult beverages. The last time I frequented this establishment, they were out of stock on my favorite white wine. A knowledgeable employee promptly came to the rescue & showed me a close alternative, & was also able to offer me a sample out of an awesome dispensing machine where you get a little glass to try one wine or a few to compare. I did end up purchasing the wine as a result of the employee's on-point recommendation & taste sample provided. There are not many small "mom & pop" liquor stores that provide samples of wine &/or beer, & their products can also cost about 25% to 30% more than Super Buy Rite, in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to this liquor store for 20 years. This evening is the last time I will ever spend my $$$ here. I was waiting in line and I was next. As soon as the old Indian man saw me he grabbed his phone and turned his back to me. He then started pointing as if I didn't know how to swipe my card, then tried to snatch my card out of the reader. When I grabbed it first he immediately turned his back again not offering me a receipt. I told him to give me a receipt and repeatedly told him to fix his attitude. Then I left. Never will I ever patron this place again. Believe the other comments, this indian man is a bigot. It also stinks in there and the refrigerators need replacing. They are warm to the touch inside. I'm not sure what happened, but I guess it's under new ownership...
