Unlock the Power of Your Core! Try the Landmine Torso Twist for a killer ab workout. Strengthen your obliques and sculpt your midsection with this dynamic rotation exercise! #CorePower #LandmineTwist #FitnessGoals 1. Set up the equipment: Place one end of a barbell into a landmine attachment or secure it in a corner of the room. 2. Stand next to the barbell: Position yourself with your feet shoulder-width apart next to the end of the barbell that is loaded with weight plates. 3. Hold the barbell: Grab the barbell with both hands using an overhand grip, palms facing down. Extend your arms fully in front of you. 4. Twist your torso: Initiate the movement by rotating your torso away from the landmine. Pivoting your back foot. Keep your hips facing forward as you twist. 5. Return to the starting position: Slowly rotate your torso back to the starting position, returning it to a neutral position. Remember, this is a simplified version of the exercise. It's important to maintain proper form, engage your core muscles, and start with a lighter weight before progressing to heavier loads. If you're new to this exercise or have any concerns, it's always a good idea to seek guidance from a qualified fitness professional.

I don’t have a long laundry list of “Wants” in a gym; as a woman, interacting with fellow humans without feeling objectified is number #2, just below “kettlebell availability”. Hybrid Fitness checks things off that list I hadn’t even written down. The owner/coach Doug, is knowledgeable, kind, patient, highly competent, helpful and humble. I’ve only conversed beyond a “hello” with a few of the coaches he’s hired but each of them exhibit similar qualities. Andrè treats his client’s successes with a genuine enthusiasm, and Shaq brings a gentle, quiet strength and sincere positivity while we hit stuff (seriously, sign up for boxing class, it’s the greatest way to die). This gym has everything a girl could ask for; a large, well equipped rig, bumper plates, a DL platform, cable machine, rowers, punching bags/double-end bag/speed bag, and enough lifting equipment to pack a gym and not wait in line for weights. Not least, a river rock floored shower that makes the perfect end to a blasted lift session. If you’re hesitant about joining, just drop in and see what I mean. I can’t imagine anyone entering this sweat nirvana and not wanting to keep coming back for more. Update: I’ve been a faithful member since 2017 and I plan on remaining one for the foreseeable future. Fellow female fans of fitness: in the 7 years I’ve been a member, not once has another member or staff ever made me feel unsafe in any respect. You come, you lift, you run, you box, you do the endorphin thing and you’re just treated like a human being. Imagine that :) after I was hit in a nasty car accident in ‘22 it completely threw off my moving groove and permanently ended certain weight lifting habits. Owner/trainer/all around awesome dude Doug has been working with me one on one to get where I want to be. He doesn’t just know his stuff, he cares about you knowing it too and...

Hybrid fitness is a great gym. Doug, Kevin, and Jordan take a personal interest in what you are personally trying to achieve. You can see this in the diversity of the clientele and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. You will see top notch athletes, people rehabbing injuries and mom and dad’s trying to maintain some life balance. The trainers listen and assess your situation and build you up to your potential. Strength training, cardiovascular, mobility, whatever you need to work on they cater to your needs and work around any injury or issue you have. They will make your strengths second nature and weakness strengths. My wife and I both train here because we want to maintain a higher quality of life as we age. We truly feel like we reversed the clock since starting with Hybrid Fitness. I have corrected issues and injuries dating back to my teenage years. The real question is why wouldn’t you try this gym. There is no monthly contract and the first session is free. Doug believes if you stand behind your product and make your clients priority one contracts are unnecessary. This is not a corporate gym. Doug is a small business owner who truly believes in what he is doing. The only thing you have to worry about is your own personal commitment. Hybrid Fitness is more of an experience than a gym. You owe it to yourself to try it. You really have nothing to lose. To Doug and the rest of Hybrid Fitness trainers, truly thank...

I’ve written + updated another review for Hybrid (longtime member here) that covered all the bases of why I love this gym. You can only update a review so much before it becomes a TL:DR situation so I’m using this one to focus on just one reason why I love it here and you will too. When I tell people I box, 98% of the response is some version of “you get out all of your anger, huh?” No, boxing has done so much for me beyond a fleeting emotion like anger and Doug Dewitt is one of the reasons I’ve gotten to where I am now. As a little girl I experienced every kind of abuse there is. I don’t have anger, nor do I need someone to artificially bring it out by yelling at me to push me. I was raised to believe I had no strength, no power, no agency, no choice. Training with Doug helped me locate, cherish, cultivate, hone, build + grow the strength I didn’t know I had. Doing so helped me learn what power really is, what agency I have and what choices are mine. Doug brings to the table decades of experience, a user friendly teaching style and a level of respect + consideration that helped me to grow my strength in a soil of safety. Anger has its place. But if you’ve been put down, ripped of dignity and made to feel less than, find your strength with Doug. You...
