I was so shocked by the behavior of the woman working there today that my partner and I are still chuckling to ourselves hours later about how absurdly rude she was. I asked her if there was somewhere I could leave the clothing I wanted try on while I was shopping because I have a shoulder injury and holding onto the heavy clothes was aggravating it. I was told that I either needed to buy the pieces right then or they would be put back on the retail floor for other customers to grab and that they couldn't be held behind the counter or in the fitting room. While this doesn't seem so unreasonable, she was very short with me and rude about her delivery of this message and I was really put off by it. Then the woman told me that I would not be able to try on half of the garments I had selected anyways because I would "stretch them out" and that they were too small. It's like...are you even trying to make a sale over here? At first I thought I was being sensitive but then when I witnessed her behavior with another customer I realized this woman is totally out of line. I watched her deny giving another customer a receipt and a few other people who were within ear shot audibly gasped when hearing how she was speaking to this man. This lady is out of control rude. At this point another couple who was in the store turned to me and my partner and stated how rude this woman had also been to them and how they were going to just leave. We all were in consensus that we didn't want to support this business and a big group of customers all walked out at the same time. It was ridiculous. I will...
Read moreI just walked in their store moments ago as I’ve always done in the past, when I see something interesting in the window. Today however I asked about a banana top that’s currently on display in the window. There was two people behind the counter one was a man another was a women. The man had no idea what shirt I was asking about purchasing and the women did know what shirt I was talking about but proceeded to tell me the shirt was “small like xs” to give me a idea of the size. Which I found odd because I was asking if it was for sale and then the man next to her agreed it was “too small” and wouldn’t fit me and made the comment “yea that shirts small and you are not small at all”. It’s the most disgusting way i’ve ever been spoken to and I don’t think it’s appropriate to be judging or making comments on anyones body type ever. In Northampton especially of all places!
This place isn’t friendly nor is it body positive. I will be taking my business elsewhere and If you are body positive and or queer I wouldn’t dare support this...
Read moreI’ve shopped here my whole life and unfortunately that isn’t gonna be a thing anymore. One of my very good friends has just experienced what I consider to be one of the worst types of treatment as a customer in an establishment. They were looking at a top that was currently on display and the women behind the counter proceeded to tell them that the top was TOO SMALL for them. 1. They didn’t ask for your opinion on if it would fit they asked to see the piece and 2. What if they suffered from and eating disorder, or Body Dysphoria? That could have sent them into a spiral. From someone who openly suffers with both issues I honestly don’t know what I would have done. I am honestly so saddened and ashamed that not only my dear friend had to experience this while just trying to hand out flyers for an upcoming event and wanting to see a top, but also the fact that this had to happen in a place that is suppose to be a safe space like Northampton! Such a shame!...
