These are the contracts and sales records I recently received from doing business here as an artist. My experience is very similar to what other artists have said in their reviews. I was not compensated for all of my damaged merchandise, waited weeks to be paid, and was charged a 35% fee for what damaged merchandise she did cover. She also deducted $87.50 without my consent for a canceled craft fair (all of the vendors paid her directly via Venmo, totaling $175, but she decided that I owed her half of that money, and she repeatedly sent me threatening profanity-laden texts in the weeks after she canceled the craft fair until I finally blocked her). Prior to this my payments spanned Sept 2022 to May 2023 and May to August of 2023 and had to be picked up in person at the gallery in cash. Additionally, this "contract" was signed by Jenn Burdick, who is a volunteer at this gallery and also has her work there for sale, and was only authorized by me to sign for the return and condition of the merchandise. (Don't believe her glowing review; she works there.) As other reviews have said, you'll go in thinking you're supporting artists and community. But you're not. This is what it looks like for me as an artist on...
Read moreFrom a customers perspective it’s awesome….but for the artists with work in this gallery…not so much. The gallery owner Jennifer Carr doesn’t pay the artists as contracted. They’re supposed to be paid every 60 days, I personally went January- December without seeing a penny. I was given multiple excuses and hassles to finally get paid, was shorted. When I took my merchandise out of there some was damaged, some was outright missing and she messaged one of my friends saying it was my fault it wasn’t there because I didn’t look through her store, mind you my things were put into boxes when I went to pick it up. This is the most unprofessional and dishonest galleries I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with and I’ve spoken with several other artists who have had the same experiences with this place. The owner steals, bold face lies, and then tries to pass the blame onto the volunteers when her dishonesty and unprofessionalism are called out. Beware! You’ll go here thinking you’re supporting artists when really you’re lining the pockets of a fraud posing as...
Read moreNot a great place to have your art in. I've heard way too many horror stories form artists who have had their art there to ever consider putting mine there.
If you're a customer, I would strongly consider you find some other gallery to deal with if possible. Artists rely on you, so you shouldn't be patronizing a store that takes...
