Holy smokes! This may be the biggest garden center I've ever seen. If you're coming with more than one person and think there's even the slightest chance you may get separated -- and with the 13 greenhouses and a labyrinth of planty lanes, there is -- don't do like I did and leave your phone in the car. Once I realized my companion had vanished, I was fated to traverse the land alone, shielding my face from the sun until my arms became tired, exchanging uncomfortable glances or avoiding eye contact with the employees and other shoppers with whom I crossed paths more than once. After repeatedly entering and exiting humid houses of green and I'd forgotten my name, I changed my goal from finding my companion to solving my dehydrated delirium. After I almost walked into a building that wasn't a building, a pink-shirted woman asked if I needed help. Hoping I might find a small beverage cooler with water or juice for sale, I asked her to point me to the main shop. I entered, somewhat refreshed by the artificial atmosphere, and saw cute figurines of frogs and turtles, but no drinks. I withered, made another short loop, then tried the car -- which was locked and hot in the broad sunlight. I traipsed back to the greenhouses once more, gasping, found otherworldly plants with names I'd never heard of, and wondered if I'd crossed over. Finally, I spotted my companion, and ran to him. We left. I think. Unless I'm still there, swallowed by a begonia, lost in my own mind, overcome by...
Read moreWas I at the same place as these others who wrote such nice things in their reviews?!! My experience was quite different. First thing I noticed was how dry the flowers were in the back. I felt sorry for the poor little things! Another nursery had same flowers that looked much healthier. But I felt I had to rescue the ones at Reds or they'd be dead the following day so I bought them there. I then go up to the front to one of the counters. I didn't understand that you are to bring your cart to the back of the counter! The woman with platinum hair & glasses made some comment that I wasn't on the ball or wasn't on my game that day. I found the comment rude and unnecessary. If they had better signage communicating what the flow of your cart is supposed to be I would have understood. The best part was when I had to go in to pay and there was a young lady definitely younger than the other women behind the counter. The young lady had to pick up a dime that jumped behind her register because I was busy counting out my money. She totally copped an attitude from that. She gave me such a look of cold contempt that I was ready to ask her what her problem was instead she just stamped my bill paid five times too many handed it to me and just looked at me. There was no thank you for shopping at Reds there was no enjoy your flowers nothing. I'm sorry but after that experience I will never be shopping at Reds. They're just too many other nurseries to do...
Read moreRude customer service, no communication, higher than usual pricing. I bought two large trees several weeks ago costing about $2300. The day before they are supposed to plant the trees which they charge you for, no call. I call them I'm put on hold for 30 min, someone picks up then hangs up the phone. I call back several times the phone rings, but then goes to a busy signal. I try several times throughout the day, same occurrence. Finally. they pick up whoever picks up the phone sounds exasperated that I'm calling. They tell me about 1-2 PM on Saturday. Well Saturday rolls in 2:30, no one is there, no calls telling me they are running late, again I call them, and again I'm met with exasperated customer service. I called twice once on Friday and on Saturday to find out information. Its not like I'm several times a day. Finally, at 4:15 four guys show up to dig the whole and 4:30 they show up with the trees. Communication would have been appreciated, and if I call then I should not be met with hostility. I need more landscaping while I was excited this was close to my home, I won't be buying...
