As a newcomer to the area, I had been searching for a reliable and proficient home automation and network installation company to set up security cameras, a high-speed network, and home theaters in our new residence. Avidia came highly recommended, and I must say they exceeded all my expectations.

From the moment I contacted Avidia, their team was incredibly responsive and professional. They promptly scheduled a consultation to understand my requirements and provided valuable insights into the best solutions for our home. The entire process was seamless, and I never felt overwhelmed or pressured.

First and foremost, I wanted to enhance the security of our new home, and Avidia delivered precisely that. Their expertise in installing security cameras was evident, as they strategically placed them around the property, providing comprehensive coverage without being intrusive. The clarity and accessibility of the camera feeds through our mobile devices give us peace of mind, even when we are away.

Avidia's network installation was nothing short of exceptional. I opted for 10 Gigabit/second network speed, and wow, the difference is incredible. I don’t normally write reviews but this is one company that deserves the recognition.

In short, Avidia is a cut above the rest of the competition because of their customer service. Three examples come to mind:

1. while they provided multiple package options with different tier pricing, what I found different about Avidia is that they personally called each manufacturer/distributor to ensure I received best pricing (including personally surfing the web to other seller sites to ensure I received the best pricing at the time). It felt like a personal concierge to ensure I had price match on everything.

2. the owners of the company personally reached out with their personal numbers in case I had any problems. While it felt like a nice gesture, I was skeptical of whether or not they would actually respond to a call/text. But one Saturday night at 10pm, I had a problem with my Apple TV and texted the owner because I was expecting a big group of friends the next day. The owner actually called me back the same night (ie 10:05pm) and walked me through how to fix the problem. Additionally their 24 hour customer service rep (part of their warranty program) also called me to confirm everything was working.

3. As part of my package, I asked for my power blinds to be connected to my Alexa devices. The original quote included a certain amount of hours to program everything. As the installation began, we realized that my power shades did not have the simple set-up as previously assumed. I thought this was a lost cause. Nope. The Avidia team stayed up the same night and found a work around and made it happen. In addition, the work around was a lot more time intensive but they kept to the original estimate vs charging me extra.

Lastly, the above incidents are just the first of many I have. To this day, the Avidia team has been responsive to every email/text within 24 hours or less. They put their customers first because I truly believe they personally love the world of audio/video technology and want to ensure people fall in love with their new systems as well.

While there are many companies out there who could sell you the same equipment. And maybe even sell it to you at the same price. But I don’t believe they will provide the same high end customer service experience as Avidia.

This company is exceptional. They are professional, young, and smart. If you have any home-automation, theatre needs, etc, look no further than Avidia. I highly recommend utilizing them for houses big and small. For some further background:

My parents have a home in Lake Forest that had a series of tech issues due to systems becoming obsolete and the technology changes that have occurred over the last 2ish decades. I went searching for a provider that would balance being cost cognizant, while also upgrading aspects of the house to the present day.

I did a broad google search and even used several friend references and every provider I met with gave extremely bloated quotes or frankly tried to rip off my parents badly through insisting on upgrades that weren't needed or simply being dishonest with their margin.

Fortunately, in a last ditch effort I found Avidia. I met with their team and explained the issues with the house and the balance of wanting state of the art without ripping apart the house and starting from scratch. They listened to my suggestions and went above and beyond at times even smartly pushing back on requests we had with things like, "Hey, we know you want x and we can do that, but y would be cheaper and less likely to have issues" It was collaborative and I feel we ended up at a better result.

I think when I summarize my experience it comes down to the reality that many home automation companies out there today are run by older individuals who are not up to date with the latest tech and seem to be running a pricing racket.
