Once upon a time ago I bought a jacket on Saks off fifths website. I ended up returning the jacket as it was too big. A few months later I bought the jacket again online as this time it was the “right” size. It came in the mail but it was the wrong size, the same size as it was the first time I bought it. I came into this saks off fifth so I could return the jacket. The website did not give me any e receipt or anything but I didn’t suspect the trouble that the supposed manager Helen gave me. For close to an hour, she harassed me and made me feel like trash. She accused me of being a liar and told me that I already returned this jacket so how do I have it again. I kept telling her how I already bought this jacket a few months ago but I had to return as it was the wrong size, but then when I bought it again since it was in stock with the “right” size and they sent me the wrong one I obviously wanted to return it. She would not let me finish my sentence and instead proceeded to put words in my mouth. She was screaming at me like I was a liar, thief, bandit, etc, the whole store was looking at me like crazy. She wouldn’t let me finish my sentence even though I was telling the truth. She was like an annoying broken tape that would not stop saying the same thing over and over again. Finally I found the email that had all of the proof and as soon as I showed her this she ran away. Karmela ended up stepping in and she helped me very well. She was very nice and apologized for the incident. Safe to say that after the encounter I had with Helen I won’t be coming back...
Read moreI drove about 45 minutes out the way only to get here and be told by a manager, a short in stature male that they are doing inventory. I was first told that I could not be in that area. I asked if there were other areas of the store I could find what I was looking and was told no. Who does inventory during Prime Time business hours??
I was made to wait and was brought the items I was looking at by an employee... I choose what I want and start to ask the same manager about other items in that area. He makes eye contact with me and leaves to pick up a phone call so I ask the same employee who brought the first set of items about other items and he was nice and very helpful and said that I could now go to the area where the inventory was being done.... I look around and as I'm leaving that area the same manager who just ignored me is now able to pay so much attention to me that he tells me I can't be in the area while he's on the phone with someone else!
How often do you find a manager with less people skills than their employee? Stay away from Saks off fifth on Skokie Blvd in Northbrook unless you want to experience this in action plus a wasted trip if they decide to do inventory...
Read moreI started shopping at Sacks recently, and I am disappointed in their lack of service. They have very few employees, and they are focused on organizing the clothes, not on people. They don't make eye contact and turn their back on you, so I am afraid to ask questions. When I got the courage to ask Sacks employee’s answer with a few detached words. It isn't easy to find size 14 or L, as most items are petite or plus sizes. Friday, I found two dresses and a flannel shirt, so I was glad. The flannel shirt was too big, so I returned it the next day. The cashier told me that I was not allowed to take the price out and next time, she would not take the return without the tag attached (it was on the shirt packet). So even though I appreciate the Sack's quality, I rate two stars for the poor service and lack of average...
