I am writing this review because my experience with Shelle Jewelers has been phenomenal. I am a new customer that stopped in about one month ago to see if I could use some of my old jewelry to design a new piece of jewelry. The staff was warm and friendly, offering snacks and beverages, treating me as if I were a guest in their home. The owner looked at the pieces I brought in and helped me design a ring similar to one I saw in the display case. He explained how much he could offer for the pieces I brought in and how much it would cost to design the ring we discussed. His pricing was very fair and he could not have been any friendlier. As I was getting ready to leave, it began to rain. The owner ran to the back of the store and brought back an umbrella to make sure I didnât get wet walking back to my car. He even insisted that I keep it. A week or two later, I went back to the store to see if I could modify the ring design. I was told it was too late because the mold for the ring had already been cast. I was a little nervous that without the changes, I may not like the ring as much, but to my surprise, when I picked up the ring last night, I found out they were able to make the changes after all. I LOVE my new ring and itâs exactly what I wanted!!! The best part is, after my trade-ins, it only cost me $80. Thank you, Shelle Jewelers!!! I will...
Read moreIâm moving from downtown to the suburbs and Shelle will be my jewelry store due to their kindness, compassion, and professionalism. I walked in without an appointment and explained that my mom had died recently and left a bunch of jewelry, I wasnât sure what was costume and what was real. The woman who greeted me expressed her condolences immediately. She then asked Manny if he had time to help me and he looked at each piece, which was extremely helpful. He told me the value of the few things I didnât want to keep which were real.
Previously I had stopped in an independent small jeweler in Vernon Hills, explained my situation with my motherâs death and not knowing if I should compensate my relatives, i.e. if some of the jewelry I found was real. He was VERY dismissive and told me everything was costume and what wasnât, wasnât worth much because it was silver. My gut told me he didnât look closely enough to be sure. As Manny discovered, one of the bracelets he said was costume is gold and is actually not only real, but has value. What an incredible difference in terms of customer service and how you treat people. I stopped in Shelle because of the reviews and they...
Read morePretty much treated like I was invisible the first time I visited. I was interested in purchasing an Oris watch and they happen to be an authorized dealer so I popped in. Couldnât get anyone to answer any questions and their Oris case literally had one watch left. When someone finally did speak to me they said they might be getting another shipment in 6 months. I asked about a particular watch and they basically googled the watch and read the website description to me. I could have just bought the watch online if thatâs the experience I wanted. It looks like people seem to generally have good experiences here so maybe itâs just me but this is not the place to purchase a luxury watch. I couldnât shake the feeling my experience was in part due to my appearance. I am a minority, I look young and I guess I was not dressed in what they consider to be proper watch purchasing attire. I guess the other customers receiving attention from the staff looked more the part. I am not one to write reviews at all but this experience left a lasting impression and I still feel...
