Newbury Comics — Local services in Norwood

Newbury Comics is a music/comic book store that strikes a comfortable balance between large chain store and Mom and Pop neighborhood store. On the music side they have a large selection of both new and used music. When you enter the music section it becomes obvious that they have taken heed to the vinyl revolution. A decade ago they were down to one bin of vinyl, but now the vinyl takes up more space than the compact disc sections. Every time I go in there the vinyl section is full of shoppers while the CD section has very few shoppers. If you are into vinyl Newbury Comics is the place for you. Whether you are just starting your vinyl collection or if you're one of the few who stayed with vinyl through the digital revolution Newbury Comics will have something for you. There is tons of classic used vinyl for decent prices if that's the way you want to go, but they will also have all of the new releases available. This particular Newbury Comics has a friendly staff. The man who sorts the vinyl seems to be there at all times and he is very helpful when you are looking for anything in particular. Every area of Massachusetts we visit we love checking out the local Newbury comics when we see one, not this one is the best for me for 2 reasons.

1. It's the largest one I've been to and I love the layout. They will often move things around but you can always figure out where to go. They have a huge selection of tshirts and will often have an offer for them or a clearance. They have several vinyl records for people who are collectors of vinyl records. A wall of funko pop with sections of them around the store as well. A DVD/Blu-ray section. Figurines, board games, novelty gifts and of course lots of comics. There is something for everyone.

2. My wife now, was my girlfriend when they first opened and we went there for our first date (among other activities in Norwood) because they had Noah and the Whale playing, back when they weren't a hugely sought out band and we got to see them free.

We take every out of state friend of ours to this store to see the awesomeness of what we have right next door to us.

Newbury comics is always a must visit for me and this one has a special place...

Wow, what can I even try to say that's negative about this store. I can't find a thing. If you like "interesting" gifts or gag gifts, this place is for you. If you have an opinion and want to actually wear it, this place is good for you. If you love music, this place is amazing. Everything from records and record player's, to c.d.s. and c.d. players. Original lps and singles on vinyl and so much, much more. Very cool and entertaining. The staff was ridiculously knowledgeable and friendly. Can't tell you how glad I am to have stumbled upon this place. It reminds me a little of a famous record store called, " Shake it Record's" because it just has an underground type feel to it.. Even though it's set up as if it's completely commercialized. I haven't done any research about the store and whether or not it's a commercial chain that's just that cool or a large and well set up small business.
