I like the place and can find lots of stuff I need but you often have to go when the item you need is in season, otherwise it's not the place to go to. For example if you need patio furniture, only in the summer, if you need salt or something for the snow you need to go late winter, you need stuff to close your pool, only at the end of the summer. Basically if you need something in season, great place to go to. If you need it when it's not on season, look elsewhere.
Also I'm annoyed that they often try to trick you into buying stuff that aren't crazy deals because they are in the crazy deals section with other items that are similar. And always the item that's not part of the crazy deal is very expensive and the only way they could sell it is to trick you into taking it to the register only to tell you, oh the crazy deal is for all the other ones, not this expensive one. So some people will just say, doesn't matter, I'll get it anyway. This hasn't happened once to think this is random or a coincidence or anything else. It happens a lot.. I've seen it dozens of times. Basically anytime they have an item that is good and a good deal and they also have a similar overpriced item in stock at the same time that they want to sell.
This trick they do would get them a one star rating, but I do go there often for stuff I need in season and do often find good...
Read moreA wide variety of merchandise, combined withsome very good prices makes for a good store to add to your list. There is ample parking, handicap accessable (Parking and entrance). Usually they have two or three registers open, the isle's are somewhat narrow and congested, often blocked with a pallet or items waiting to be stocked. There is usually plenty of employees available to answer your questions , there's one employee who definitely is a cut above the rest, (when it comes to customer service)and even though he usually works up front Mark is pretty knowledgeable about the products and their location, he's usually upbeat and is a breath of fresh air in regards to the retail industry. If you are a frugal shopper they have a Customer rewards program that offers even more savings , they used to run a program called"Crazy Deals" but I haven't seen it in some time. The check out lines are often congested, and the difficulty of locating items, with isle congestion the removal of public restroom and the cleanliness of the store and parking lot has seriously dropped off since Howie left, Howie not only cleaned the store he seemed to set a positive work environment with jokes and just an infectious positive attitude, I haven't seen him there in years and it's definitely had an impact. Still a good place to shop and save money, now it's just like every other...
Read moreJust recently moved here from the Brookline area & have a family trip to prepare for in 6 wks so I have plenty of shopping lists! So I "took my lists shopping" the other night, hoping to check off at least a few items! Imagine my surprise when an hour later, I walked out empty-handed! - despite a good faith effort that had me circling back to areas where I really expected to find items circled in red on my lists! A few specifics: entering this "new-to-me" store, there was little in the way of signage to help me efficiently plan my path. The inventory, was at best, spotty & on those few occassions when I did pick up an item for a purchasing consideration, the quality felt questionable. When I zoomed in closer to do a mental "price check," I had swallow reacting with a loud "Are you kidding me!" My conclusion on item after item was "Not with my money!" The prices weren't even the range of "maybe I could do better, but here I am & this is something I want/or need" so I'll chalk it up to a "convenience tax." Guess I'll be taking a ride back to the old neighborhoods. Kinda sad - but I felt you had a right to know: not only do we deserve better than this, there IS better than this, just a few miles up the road. Humbly...
