Read moreMy experience at this furniture store was fantastic. I was assisted by a man named Matt Pangelinan and he was beyond friendly, warm, helpful, and understanding. He was the type of sales man who was there when I needed him, but never too pushy or overbearing. He gave me space to browse at the things I wanted to look at, but when I needed help, he was immediately there with all the answers. Whenever I have to enter stores such as this, I tend to get a bit overwhelmed because of all the options and looks (and honestly some of the prices too)…however, Matt was able to subside my nerves and help me choose beautiful pieces that fit my budget and worked for the look I was aiming to achieve. He also introduced me to the Jonathan Lewis furniture collection, which I ended up LOVING & purchasing quite a few pieces from. I bought 2 custom fabricated chairs with matching throw pillows from this collection and I cannot wait until it’s finished and gets delivered. I also purchased 2 different tables, (not Jonathan Lewis Collection) with the help from Matt, which have already been delivered and look absolutely stunning in my new home. I’ve already received several compliments from guests about my tables.
Matt works with speed and efficiency and charm…and showed tremendous amount of genuine interest in my new home as well as my personal life. While checking me out, we chatted about our families, how we ended up in Hawaii, and our common interests.

I purchased a 5 piece dining set from the Ward location and they directed me to the Aiea store to pick up the order. When I arrived at the Aiea store I was told I actually had to go to the Salt Lake location. That was a little annoying but relatively close so it wasn't a huge deal however once I got to the Salt Lake location I was told I couldn't pick it up because the warehouse is closed on Mondays. I called the manager at Ward who said I could pick up the floor model back at Ward which was not what I wanted and despite making that abundantly clear he kept pressing the issue. After a little haggling I was able to get them to deliver the item fully assembled at no charge. I find it pretty unbelievable that both the floor sales person and the manager didn't know where I needed to pick the item up and "forgot that the warehouse was closed." I can't deny that prices here are relatively inexpensive and if you have the patience to bear with the terrible customer service then this is the place for you. For people who actually have things to do throughout the day I would avoid Ashley at all costs. For me the headache is definitely not worth it.
