Very disappointed in the Oak Island location. It was my first time visiting the store. The store is very huge and has a lot going on. I picked put a bathing suit and was walking around checking everything else out with the other items I planned on purchasing. One of the staff walked up to me and very rudely told me that the bathing suits couldnāt leave the bathing suit area and took it out of my hands. I explained that I wasnāt aware of that rule as it was my first time in there. She stated that there were signs everywhere. I told her I hadnāt noticed them and when I finally noticed them, they werenāt big at all and were not easily noticeable. 3 other women walked up to me after she walked off with the swim suit and said that they have been in there before and that they didnāt noticed the signs and they apologized on how they heard the employee speak to me. She proceeded to ask me if I needed a fitting room and I said, āno, I know my size and I want to purchase itā. She then, proceeded to put the bathing suit back on the rack and it was purchased by another customer. When I first walked in, I was met with a rude greeting from the lady at the register. As I browsed, I noticed a large selection of merchandiseāsome pieces were very nice, but others felt more like Temu or Shein quality with a Nordstrom price tag. While browsing, I was also approached by two other women in the store, and both were extremely rude. The way they treated me made me feel like I was being watched as if I were going to steal something.
I came to your store because I was genuinely interested in making purchases. In fact, I had several items I would have bought, but the treatment I received completely changed my mind. I ended up only buying a hair clip because I needed one right away, but I left the store as quickly as possible. Looking back, I wish I hadnāt even done that, because the negative experience outweighed the convenience.
