Pizza Shack — Restaurant in Oak Island

An utter and complete failure.

I called at a little after 9:00pm on a Saturday night and placed my order for delivery. I'm told by the guy on the phone (who was apparently so new he couldn't calculate the total for my order) that delivery would be between 30 and 45 minutes.

Fast forward to just a few minutes after 10pm. I don't have my pizza and haven't received a call giving me any kind of update. I decide to call them to check how things are going. I get their voicemail because it's after 10 and they're closed.

THEY TOOK MY ORDER AND BLEW ME OFF?!? Luckily I didn't pay by card over the phone.

Half an hour later, THE DRIVER SHOWS UP. I don't blame him for the situation (it's not HIS fault) and go ahead and make the transaction. I tear into the pizza box only to find a pizza that could only be described as slightly above room temperature.

It is an absolute mystery how Pizza Shack remains in business. Mind-blowingly bad service with mediocre...

I guess I'm not from around here but I am from Raleigh North Carolina. The pizza literally did taste like a frozen pizza from Food Lion. If you were thinking hey I will try this local place don't, you'd be better off ordering from Domino's who actually takes credit card.

This pizza had no soul, the crust was literally horrible even though I saw the guy making it fresh. Honestly this pizza is the reason I'm leaving the beach. Just kidding Domino's is a literally right around the corner.

The only reason I say that this place has four stars is because these locals around here have never traveled outside of Brunswick county. I'm about to southern as you can get this pizza literally made me wonder why I did not order Domino's. I cannot believe this place was literally open since 1989 I came here several times as a kid in the early 90s when Long Beach was...

I thought I’m late but an hour later my order wasn’t ready. They probably don’t have any competition here as they are slammed with orders and hardly keep up with folks non-stop coming in. Staff seems nice. I cannot imagine how they are all working in this sweatshop but I guess habit makes it possible. The place is not for dining in, basically walk in and get your order. I was expecting something yummy since they are so busy (thinking, maybe, people know them and love them), but could not be more disappointed. Pizzas are pieces of burned crust with little flavor. One pie wasn’t even pre-cut leaving us all miserable with only a plastic knife...
