Dandelion Bookshop — Local services in Oak Park

We first visited Dandelion the day after they opened. Even though they had had a very healthy turnout the day before (yay!) there was still an amazing selection! The interior is calm and serene, and exactly the vibe you’d want from a small bookshop. There was a great combo of bestsellers, new releases, and old favorites, as well as a great selection of nonfiction. I had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few books. My kids (ages 11, 9, and 6) all found lots of books that they loved in the kids’ section. Grandma and I were sceptical about the new bookstore. She really misses the Book Table and we know a lot of competition is anticipated to move into Oak Park. We took a chance on a quick visit and were pleasantly thrilled to find a well curated selection and friendly staff. We found many books that we would like to add to our personal libraries and both walked away with new and classic titles from their non-fiction and kids sections. I exited a restaurant with some friends and I saw the Dandelion Bookshop across the street! I was thrilled because another small bookshop in the area closed and I love supporting small businesses. So my friends and I walked over, it was 7:50pm and the owners were so nice and let us stay a little later from closing (8pm) and let us check it out and buy a few things.
