I think it's a horrible Place very unprofessional Staffing Marlon who was a manager refused to help a handicap individual who was struggling to get his copies done who acts at least four or five different questions and was asking for help. This gentleman did not receive help until I demanded for Marlon to go over and help him he's a disabled individual and he's a senior it is your job to assist individuals who ask for help and I've noticed since I was standing here this gentleman has asked you 4 or 5 times for help. It was not until I had brought that to his attention that he went over to help the senior citizen. I told him shame on you it is your job to assist customers and you seen this man struggling by the way the whole time he was trying to copy he was on a cane the left cane was shaking and wobbling and I thought the gentleman was going to lose his balance and fall. Marlon said you're right but I was doing something else and I asked him if he would stop doing what he was doing to help this man and he did it disgruntletly. When I say this man was rude I don't know how he made manager but I did leave information with corporate because I plan on writing a complaint. Customer service is very important when you are bringing your business and your money to that establishment and it is unethical and uncouth for that kind of behavior to come from a manager. I hope you get it together Marlon very soon and I want you to know that I will be contacting corporate. You truly didn't want to help me until you sing the Motions that I was filing and the copies that I was making it's then that you found out that I was an attorney that you decided that you would be more helpful. But I'm here to tell you it doesn't matter what job a person does whether you're handicapped disabled or whether you work a full-time job everyone deserve the same respect the same honor the same customer service and commitment from a large establishment like Office Depot. Please be reminded there are major companies that are closing down you need to provide excellent customer service if you want your customer still to come and patronize you. By the way I could count on one hand how many customers came into that store it looks like you're struggling already. Please be mindful to be kind to people and to be respectful of your elders I felt bad for that elderly man who could have been his father and he cared less about him. Needless to say I will never enter this store again I'd rather take my business to some place that's going to be professional and conduct themselves and provide great customer service! We...
Read moreZero stars, truly horrifying customer service. The manager Marlon deliberately escalated a minor transaction error so severely, that he most certainly is a liability waiting to happen.
I was rang up and realized I was overcharged for an item, and asked for the difference to be put back on my card. The sales associate tossed the receipt, rang a manager, and apologized for the error and long wait. The manager comes up and asks for a receipt, which I stated was discarded. He refused to do anything despite the transaction being moments ago. I stated that the sales associate threw the receipt in the trash, I just want the overage returned, its not a big deal - errors happen. He began lecturing and raising his voice at me about the receipt, and told me 'I was lucky' he was going to return it as store credit. By this point the whole store is staring at us. After stating that I do not want, nor should I have to have store credit, because it was no error on my part, he began full-blown yelling at me. He actually told me this was 'all my fault', that 'I'm lucky he's doing anything for me', and that I could 'leave without my money if I liked'. My husband came in the store because it was taking so long, and had to raise his voice over this mans yelling to tell him to stop berating me. I finally broke down to near tears and took the store credit after 30 minutes of this back and forth.
To try and find a solution, I got in my car and called the customer service number. She talked in circles and repeatedly asked me to give each detail, would repeat it back all wrong, and we would start all over again. By this point, I just asked to file a complaint to try to get off the phone faster. We continued talking in circles and ultimately I was told that this wasn't the customer service line and a complaint couldn't be documented without an active account. She gave me the customer service phone number and it was the same number as the one I was speaking to. I was so defeated I just gave up and hung up.
I am in disbelief that anyone in customer service could think it is ok to behave in such a hostile and aggressive way. I truly don't understand how a business can function this way, and hope they close to save others from this...
Read moreThis store is absolutely dreadful! Always a long wait as the cashier and return desk are one and the same. Always filthy!!!!
Went in looking for an office chair and a few other items. It was Sunday and they were NOT BUSY. I asked the sales guy if the chair I wanted could be put together so I could take it out with me at purchase. First he said no it would be tomorrow before we could get to it. Then he said, after I pressed him, or we could do it today but it wouldn’t be ready until six tonight. At which time I asked for a manager.
The manager came out with a nasty attitude and Dryly Gave me the same information. I told them both that I would just go somewhere else. Without apology or further comment, they both spent on their heels and left me standing there.
Sad to say this store is in a predominantly African-American neighborhood and they were both African-American. I am African-American. So I called out to the white neighborhood which was 15 minutes away. They were so accommodating and told me I could pick my chair up in 30 minutes. Needless to say And unfortunate that I cannot shop in my own neighborhood and have to go out to the white neighborhood to get good service. I wasn’t asking them to put the chair together for free I even offered to pay more than what they were asking to put together for. That was my last visit to the Oak Park store. Farmington Hills gained a customer...
