Read moreTo Laura, thank you for making my sister, Kayla's, bridal shopping experience such a great one. From the minute we walked into the door, she greeted our group with kindness and immediately showed us the process for the picking out dresses for the bride to be. Throughout the entire process she was very helpful and insightful about all the ins and outs when it came to finding the perfect dress for my sister and her body type, the alteration process, and everything else necessary. Her bubbly personality made the entire experience great INSPITE of what we experienced at the end. Laura, I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.
To Cam, the store manager, you put a disgusting taste in my mouth at the end. During the end of our process, me and the other bridesmaids decided to try on dresses and when we were in fitting rooms that were WITHOUT NAMES on them, she came and started to rudely talk to the mother-in-law about how the rooms we were in were already reserved (we didn't know this) for her guests and that we needed to get out. What really pissed me off was the way she was talking to the mother-in-law and the comment she made along the lines of "since they've allowed themselves to use these rooms." Excuse me? These people were apart of a bridal party that she clearly SAW US APART of because we were int he same area as her previous party was in. If the rooms were solely booked for her and her clients, she should have written their names on them OR informed Laura that this area was blocked off for her clients. I do not appreciate being talked down to in front of other people and being made to feel like I was inconveniencing her and her clients because we used the fitting rooms. Her and how she referenced me and my bridal party was racist and uncalled for. As a bridal party that was going to spend well over $2,000, we deserve the same amount of respect as the White female clients that entered the...
Read moreI had a really wonderful experience with my stylist, Jaki. I had gone to a different shop for my first time, and the experience was really uncomfortable. At David's Bridal with Jaki, though, it was much more in line with what I understood that the dress-buying process should be. I got there, was greeted, and was given little wooden markers to hang on any dresses I wanted to try on. Jaki explained which sections were full-priced or clearance, and then left myself and my friend to browse. When I was done choosing, Jaki went to get the dresses in my size and I tried on 6-8 dresses. They let you use a little room to change and then you step out onto a stage with big mirrors! I felt awesome. Every dress fit over my hips (a big deal for me) and I felt really pretty.
I found a dress that was perfect, and it was 30% off! I also got a cute rose gold floral headband. They said my new dress would be in within a month, and they do alterations if needed (they said about 2 months if in need those).
My only complaint isn't actually about my own process - after I got my dress, my friend wanted to try on a dress for a different wedding that she is going to. She found one she liked, but it had a small tear in the zipper seam and asked if they could repair it. They said yes (awesome) and it would take just a few minutes. It took closer to 25-30, which bothered us a little because we had already paid for her dress and would have preferred a bit more communication so we could have left to grab food (we were admittedly a bit hangry at this point). At no point was anyone rude or anything, but we did feel a little forgotten about and left in the dark. 25 minutes feels like forever when you are 1) hangry and 2) you were told it would only be a few minutes. Just a bit more communication would have been...
