Extremely poor service! I had an even exchange and was treated like a criminal. The staff had no professional verbal skills and were dressed unprofessionally. They attacked me because I had my card statement in Lieu of my receipt and no tags on the item. They made almost no eye contact and were short tempered so I gave it right back, I won't be treated like that in a JC Penney. I was head of Security and Homeland Security Liaison for this company in two states and those states largest stores, I supervised departments and taught my cashiers excellent customer service skills. This store in particular is a real dive, it's messy and too much merchandise crowded into small spaces, in fact while I was being treated badly at the counter a woman came in from the parking with and item that she says got caught on her bag while she was leaving...caught because you can't walk around without getting caught on racks or having to move out of the way to let someone else by. The merchandise is presented in a way that gives it the impression of being cheap not good quality for less but cheap like dollar store cheap. Now I am sorry I didn't have the receipt or the tags, I tried it on in the store and the item fit but when I wore it for about an hour it was so uncomfortable it was digging into my side and very painful. I didn't want to keep an expensive item that I would or could not wear for more than an hour and I wasn't asking for a refund just an even exchange for an alternate item. Because it fit and I did not foresee any problems I took the tags off and I do keep receipts but was unable to locate this one before I left for the store but did make an effort by at least bringing in the statement that had that purchase on it. This company's technology is so out dated and unfriendly that it hinders good customer service. They really need to get their IT department up to speed and also deal with Synchrony bank and get them up to speed as well, their technology is what makes it so hard for them to interact with customers in these situations because they have to jump through hoops and I recognize this dilemma they face but that doesn't make it ok to treat a very good customer with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the most horrible, disrespectful experience with the customer service. Even thought it is the holiday season, it still doesn't excuse rude customer service. I have been a member for over twenty-five years regardless, that doesn't require my absolute loyalty to this company. I was physically assaulted. I only wanted to return one item, it was so simple, but it ended up turning into a nightmare. They put snotty, rude, young adult/teenagers in charge of the customer's service and the returns departmant, which was a bad decision. This young woman was unprofessional. Firstly, she wasnt even wearing a name tag and wouldn't even give me her name. I had to return my item and I was emailed the recipt on my phone, all she needed to do was to scan the barcode to return it. She snatched my phone out of my hand. I kindly and politely told her how I felt uncomfortable with others holding my property, and I took back my phone. She then grabbed the phone out of my hand again without my permission. I then proceeded to assertively tell her to give me my phone. When she finally did, she asked for the barcode number, I scrolled up and showed her the number. She then, for the third time took my phone out of my hand. This was the third time in a row that she refused to understand not to grab and snatch away my legal property. They gave me to the store manager(Steve) who didn't help in any way. He didn't seem to understand the issue in what I had experienced. It was a complicated and disorganized mess. I'm never shopping at Jcpenney's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked inside the front entryway to trip over a rug that was upright via carts not put away properly. Thankfully I didnāt fall. I said to the employees at the register about four of them standing around doing nothing that they should move that so somebody doesnāt trip and fall. I was given some snotty remark that I barely heard but something about me walking too close to the carts and they laughed at me. Iām conveniently Iām having a bad day as I just broke up with my boyfriend eight years this actually made me want to cry. They should think before they speak. Itās free to be nice. Takes barely any energy. I think I lasted about 120 seconds in the store before I ended up leaving. I was shopping for my momās birthday gift. I have spent thousands of dollars here and I will not be back if that is the type of people being hired. Now I wish I would have fell so I could have sued. Brats. Standing around. Doing nothing. And then to talk back to me after not properly placing the carts back (that would be your job, am I incorrect?) I have been a manager for 12 years and I would surely be firing somebody. Not impressed. I wish I was rude and Karen enough to have said this all to their face but Iām actually just a sweet small girl who hates when girls are literally jerks. Those people are not going to make you any money JCP. Iāll be shopping else where now for further...
