I recently had the pleasure of visiting Eli's Fitness Studio in Oakland Park, Florida, while on a trip from Michigan, and I have to say, this place is phenomenal! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with an energy thatâs rare to find in most gyms. People arenât just going through the motions, theyâre truly pushing themselves and holding each other accountable.
What sets Eli's apart is that itâs one of those gyms where you don't even feel the need to wear headphones. The vibe is that contagious! Youâll find yourself naturally driven by the intensity and focus around you, which is a testament to the culture JoĂŁo (or Joe, as everyone calls him) has cultivated here. The equipment is super great and somewhat old school which I love (with plenty of newer options too) offering everything you could possibly need, from the latest strength training machines to innovative functional equipment to makes every workout amazing.
But what really impressed me was the sense of community. Everyoneâfrom the trainers to the regularsâwas incredibly friendly and willing to help, whether itâs offering a spot or just giving a few tips to perfect your form. The trainers are clearly experts in their field, bringing a passion for fitness thatâs clear in every session. They aim to inspire not just instruct, making sure youâre getting the most out of your workout and working towards being the best version of yourself.
Eli's Fitness Studio is more than just a gymâitâs a place where youâre pushed to be your best, where youâre part of a community that motivates and supports each other every step of the way. If youâre in the Oakland Park area or even just visiting, like I was, do yourself a favor and check...
Read moreI have been working out with a trainer at Eli's for years now - have followed Jao (Joe) and my trainer, Charles, as they have moved from smaller locations to the current location at 4199 N Oakland. I have nothing but great things to say about the owner and the trainers. It's probably one of the cleanest gyms I have ever worked out at and Joe continually tries to improve the gym with more and better and different equipment. Everything is in excellent condition always. Trainers are professional and really care about their clients. I know people who have been going to the same trainers at Eli's for over 10 years. That's commitment! The gym has free weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, all kinds of machines and equipment. There are also private lockers to store your belongings as well as two private bathrooms with showers. There is a yoga and capoeira studio as well as massage/stretch rooms. It's really a great place for training - for health, sport training, yoga, one-on-one, or group training. Those who post bad reviews are either disgruntled or the competition...
Read moreThe place is unclean. It also smells from all the trucks passing behind as it is a garage in an industrial area. The air alone is unhealthy to start with. The owner has a temper and yells or talks all the time. The trainers there also yell all over the place as if it is a bar. Kids sit and play video games while you are trying to work out. In addition, the trainers try and work out with clients and waste people's money. It is like a joke trying to work out there. Oh and did I mention the parking? good luck cause the trainers and owners park in the spaces and you can't get a place to park to make your appointment. With so many choices in Fort Lauderdale this is the last and least convenient place to work out and.... did I...
