My experiences in the past with Dillard's have been pleasant; however, on July 26th there was an event for Lancomé and my mother was spontaneously welcomed to try on their products as she was searching for new makeup. The lady who did my mother's makeup was extremely kind and welcoming, and my mother decided to buy all of the products tested on her due to her luxury experience. After buying all of the products, I, a college student, looked at the price and made a shocking face. We pondered on whether we should return some of the items as went out of budget and eventually came to the decision to return only some of the items. As soon as we spoke to the lady who initially welcomed us, who had a black bob and I presume she was Asian, she snatched the bag from my mother's hand and started to take everything out of the bag. Her name is Anita I believe, and she claims to be working there for 15 years. She said, "Let me return everything because it seems like you can't afford it anyway, and you wasted our time too." My mother said, "I do not like the way you are speaking to me therefore I would like to speak to your manager." She then said she has been working there for fifteen years and cannot be touched. Good to know how much she has excelled in her life. She made a jab at me and told me that, "I saw your face and you looked upset when you walked into the store anyway." I intervened as things were getting out of hand and said, "Firstly I do not have a problem, and I do not appreciate the way you are speaking to my mother. There needs to be a change in not only your tone but your professionalism as well." She proceeded to walk away and take care of another elderly couple and she continued to disrespect my mother and myself out loud and point fingers at me. The managers were extremely respective of our experience; however, this speaks poorly of their...
Read moreI have never made a public complaint about ANY business. Unfortunately, I feel like the situation that occurred last night at Dillards needs to be addressed.
Iâm a college student. Last night I was shopping for a graduation dress with my fiancĂ© and our 4 year old son. I found 4 white dresses I wanted to try on and a lady escorted my family and I to the dressing room.
After trying one, I needed help zipping the back and I had no intentions of stepping out of the dressing room for everyone to see my lower back/ panty line exposed. I called out for my fiancĂ© to enter the dressing room and zip the dress. Abruptly, this same employee at Dillards yells across the store âNO MEN IN THE DRESSING ROOMâŠâ
I was literally in utter shock and completely embarrassed.
First of all, there was no one else in that dressing room beside my family.
Second of all, there was absolutely no sign referring to men not being allowed.
Third, as I said before there is absolutely no way I could have zipped the dress myself and so that left me with few options.
Ultimately, I just put everything back and left. Dillards will NEVER have my business ever again.
I am completely embarrassed that this women decided to yell out across the store as if we had been doing something OTHER than trying on dresses with my four year old son present especially.
I think that this employee who was working in your junior formal dress department at 6pm last night should be held accountable for discrimination against and my family and I. And also for the embarrassment we had to endure while simply shopping for a graduation dress. I will take this as high up as possible until my complaint is...
Read moreMy wife went to the store to purchase shoes for me. 2 pairs, one black one brown. I am FaceTiming her while she is looking at the shoes since I am at work. A lady came by and was trying to redirect her to other brand shoes which isnât a big problem. She told my wife the price of a brown pair of Cole haans were $125 yet the price on the receipt was $200. She never showed my wife the shoes either at the register and when my wife checked them in the car they were a whole different pair. The black pairs were also Cole haans and she told my wife the price were $120 and they ended up on the receipt being $160. My wife called when she was in the car and told me she felt like she was taken advantage of so I told her I would go back when I can to turn them in and get a refund but she decided to do it herself and ask why a simple transaction could be messed up. The lady wasnât going to help her get the refund so an older gentleman processed the transaction for my wife. I was not going to write a bad review until my wifeâs interaction with this gentleman. He processed the refund and told my wife that next time your husband should get the damn shoes himself. Completely ignoring the fact that the mistake was on their end not ours. They did not take responsibility for their own actions and blamed us for their actions. I purchase many shoes from this store many times and will not be returning. And if anyone asks if they should go to this Dillard I will highly recommend them to buy somewhere else. Extremely disgusted with the way my wife was treated. And even more disgusted by the unprofessional way the gentleman...
