I’m new to Ocala and was really looking forward to becoming a regular at Twistee Treat but after my experience, I honestly don’t even want to go back.
The first time I visited (over a week ago), I asked to sign up for the rewards program. The lady with glasses at the register told me to write my info down on the receipt, said she would take care of it and never did. No big deal at first… until I came back during the car show night, excited to grab some ice cream again, and was completely let down.
The girls working that night looked like they were straight out of high school zero energy, zero customer service, and clearly zero care about the job they were doing. One rolled her eyes at me, both seemed annoyed that I was even asking about my points, and neither offered to fix the situation. Not even a “sorry about that” or “let me help you get signed up.” Just pure attitude and not one ounce of effort to make things right.
Honestly, they looked frustrated to even be there and it showed. The vibe was completely off. I left feeling more upset than anything, and it’s just ice cream! It should be a happy place. Instead, I felt dismissed, disrespected, and confused why no one cared enough to handle something so simple with kindness.
If this is how they treat new customers, I can only imagine how many people walk away feeling just like I did. Maybe it’s time they consider hiring staff who actually care about keeping their jobs, instead of young kids who treat customers like a bother.

It doesn't matter how many times I ask for my order to go, they still hand it to me individually & without lids. I am 1 person, alone, in a car... do you really think it's convenient for me to get 4 separate cups of ice cream without lids? Do you SEE anyone else in the car? Then why are you handing me 4 open cups of ice cream with spoons in them when I have asked for them to be placed in a bag? Seriously. Use your head. I know you're only 15, which everyone who works there is still in high school, but use common sense if you're not going to adhere to my request. Now, there are probably 2 or 3, maybe 4, who I would say are very good employees and a couple that have major attitudes. She got a craving so I drive 20 minutes to get her one, drive allllllllllllllll the way home to discover there was no banana in the "Banana split". Seriously like we paid $6 for this dessert and I have to drive all the way back at 9pm at night for a refund? Are you kidding me. How about you guys hire more competent people!?!?!?!?!!
