Date: 8/18/22 Time: Approximately 5:15PM-5:30PM Complaint: We felt profiled and we’re made uncomfortable by half of the employees.
My significant other and I visited this Staples location on 8/18/22 between 5:15PM and 5:30PM to buy School supplies that included pens, pencils, a sharpener, binder, planner, and other materials. When we first arrived we noticed one of the employees, a man with a neck beard who kept staring at us as we looked through the school bins that had materials for sale in the front of the store. Okay, no problem, we understand how loss prevention is a priority and didn’t think much of it. Continuing into the main pencil/pen aisle we could feel someone staring at us. Looking up, I find the bearded man looking at us from the entrance of the aisle. He almost wakes from a trance and stumbles to walk away. Weirded out now, and highly uncomfortable, we continued shopping and head into the back aisle which holds a wall of binders. That’s when we notice another employee, a short female with medium length curly dark brown hair at the back end of the wall. She was in stagnation, not doing inventory or restocking. When she noticed she had caught my attention, she made her way into an aisle, disappearing. The whole shopping experience was quite unpleasant, especially when we realized we were being observed as possible “thieves”. (We realized this early on, as they kept staring at us, indiscreetly might I add!) I’m all for loss prevention, but the employees could be a little more tactful in their approach. I was literally fuming by the time we got to the cashier. Thankfully, the cashier was very sweet and helpful. There was also another worker who was blonde and tall, he was nice and asked if we found everything okay. He was more mature in his approach. We will be sure to NOT visit this location anymore. Do...

Picture this: I’m in town giving a training, need 19 books printed, and I roll the dice on an online order at Staples Oceanside. They promised me same-day by 7:30 p.m. I figured “Yeah right, I’ll be picking these up tomorrow with a side of disappointment.” But lo and behold, at 4:00 p.m. I get the call: “Your books are ready!” That’s faster than Amazon Prime with a caffeine addiction.
Now, were the books perfect? Not quite. A small detail slipped through. But here’s where Staples Oceanside separates the rookies from the pros: enter Mike, the supervisor. This man didn’t just fix the issue—he ascended to Customer Service Olympus and made it right without me even needing to raise my voice. Legendary status unlocked. And Lillie at the desk? Polite, professional, and the type of person who could probably de-escalate a bar fight just by smiling.
As for the store itself… it’s enormous. We’re talking aisle after aisle after aisle of pens, paper, notebooks, toner, and more sticky notes than a corporate brainstorming session on steroids. If you’re even slightly an office supply nerd, you’ll walk in here and start questioning your life choices. Do I need another leather desk chair? A pen that costs more than lunch? A shredder that could handle a small tree? Probably not. But in that moment—standing in the Staples Colosseum—you want it all.
So yeah, if you’re in Oceanside and need printing or binding, this is the spot. They’re fast, they care, and they’ve got enough office supplies to make you feel like Michael Scott on a shopping spree. Just be careful—your wallet might come out thinner, but your inner office nerd will come...
Read moreUpdate: 8/13/22 @230pm. This updated review will remain 5 stars plus 1. Please PLEASE make sure you give this specific employee kudos. His name is Derek. He has 2 phones, a belt full of tools and he is ready to rock and roll. To help assist ANY situation. There was a line building up. He jumped on a register and knocked it out. He is always welcoming people when they first come through those doors. His energy really rubs off. He tells us about coupons. The app. Like he REALLY loves his job. It's so refreshing to see someone take a job serious. You don't feel a genuine person from other retailers. He is the real deal! Thanks Staples for your help and people like him!
Out of all places in shopping for Pens. Staples kills it with pen selection! It's hard to find pens that are .5 mms and smaller. And this place has them! The hard to find G2 and the Pentel TXR pens! They now have the new cool business plus pens. And they have a huge notepad for you to try them! Super smooth, anti smear pens will be the next ones on my list. And you proceed to check out. They have the Mini G2s! They are awesome! And you can buy them in singles! They also have this staples program where it saves the receipt under your number. And ya don't waste paper! Store is nice and clean. Easy check out line. Plenty of parking and very visible from the street. Definitely one of my stop shop for office supplies. I think they beat Walmart because of the selection. Walmart gets dried out pens. While Staples have fresh pens! They have everything you need to set up an office!...
