I never felt like I needed to write a review until now, but I hope I can help others avoid such a disrespectful employee. I really don’t know how to express as a parent with a disabled son how horrible our experience was. My 11-year-old has been in a wheelchair his whole life and it’s been a battle that we keep fighting. I know it’s hard for him when my other 2 kids are in sports and we go to all their games. He helps out and cheers for his siblings, but we’ve been trying to find something he can get into beside his tablet. Well, his uncle introduced him to Warhammer and off he went reading the books building the models with his uncle and even helping his uncle play the game. It’s been great seeing him so excited and happy. So, after school I thought I would take him to a Warhammer Store close to my mother’s house and that is where we meet Alex. My son was so excited it was hard to keep up with him. Alex introduced himself and asked if he could help us find something and I told him we are just looking. So after a few minutes Alex ask if we are going to buy something and I told him it depends on if my son finds something he likes. Alex asks my son what army are you playing and my son tells him he wants gray nights like his uncle. Well then Alex starts telling my son why he shouldn’t play gray nights and talks about snobby players ruining the game and keeps going on and on. I could see my son didn’t want to hear anymore, so I told Alex thank you and pushed my son’s wheelchair away from him. So away from Alex I picked up a model, I didn’t know what it was and asked how about this one honey and my son says no that one is not a gray night it looks stupid. Well here comes Alex and he reprimands my son then says let’s keep it PG 13. Ok there is nobody else in the store beside us and stupid is not a curse word and is allowed in a PG 13 movie. When I saw the look on my son’s face, I couldn’t leave quick enough. My son asked if he said something wrong and started to tear up. I told Alex that he is a horrible person and a horrible representative for this game or hobby. Alex said I’m sorry you feel that way. After such an awful experience my son didn’t want anything to do with Warhammer and finally after a month my brother and his friends talked him into coming over to...
Read moreWe found this store by chance, and are so glad we did! My 11-year-old son decided he wanted to try Warhammer after watching a ton of videos, and we stumbled across this store while stopping at a nearby atm. Alex was super friendly and answered my son's MANY questions, going into the lore as well as different aspects of the game and model building. He has an incredible amount of knowledge, and you can tell he has a passion for what he does. He helped my son look at different kits and weigh out what route he wanted to go for his first purchase. He also informed us that we could build/paint a free figure and get a game intro for some hands-on experience. Unfortunately, the store was still waiting on a shipment of the free intro figures (and my son was still saving up his money), so we decided to come back again later. We made another stop into the store before the figures were replenished so my son and I could check things out, and again, Alex was friendly and helpful. On our third trip in (and after checking in via phone), we were finally able to paint our first figures! Alex was super apologetic that it took so long, but I couldn't hold the shipping problems against him. Even though it was really busy, he took the time to get us started on painting and really explained each step. He even had my younger daughter choose a figure to paint since she was there with us. While we worked on our painting, Alex made sure to check in and give us instructions between customers and was SO encouraging to my kids. My husband was also with us, and Alex answered all of his questions about building terrain. He was really transparent about what you need to get started and what could wait. He was never pushy about the product, just happy to share his knowledge and passion for the game. He made my kids feel amazing about their paint work, and they both left with what are now treasured game pieces. We also ended up purchasing a starter set so I could learn to build the pieces myself, and I look forward to playing the game as a family! We will definitely be back, and my son is looking forward to getting his own starter...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had at a Warhammer store. It started off nice then Alex started preaching about politics and elitists. My son and I were the only ones there, so it felt like we were being attacked. I thought "should I feel ashamed for buying a $200 model, is he calling me an elitist?" I was feeling like Alex just wanted us to leave. I have never been asked am I going to buy something, I have been asked if I was looking for something. Alex was very pushy and unprofessional. I asked him if I offended him somehow because I have never been treated this way ever at a Warhammer store and Alex said, "No I'm just saying how Elitists are ruining the hobby". I left the store, and I will never go back. Parents there are so many amazing Warhammer employees do not go to Alexs's store, he can easily ruin the hobby for you...
