I bought a dress Friday evening that I thought I would wear to a wedding the very next day, on Saturday. The day of the wedding came and I started realizing I did not like it as much as I thought I did so I needed up wearing a dress I already owned. I tried the dress on in the store on Friday and that was the only time I wore it. I had taken the tag off of it Friday evening when I got home because at that point I still thought I would wear it the next day. I came in on a Sunday (not even 48 hours after purchasing) to return it since I did not end up wearing it(and knew I would never wear it). I had the original receipt and the tag with the proof of purchase sticker with me upon returning. The lady who “helped” me return the dress was very snarky and a little rude about the fact I took the tag off. She implied that she did not know if I actually wore the dress or not (of course I offered to show her pictures from the wedding, she declined 🤣) and said that it is common sense to have tags attached when you return something to any store, not just dollars (even though I have made numerous returns at different stores without tags being attached over the years). I pulled out my receipt and read the policy printed on the back and told her the receipt says nothing about having the tag attached if you return it. The receipt only mentions having the original receipt and a “proof of purchase sticker” which was placed on the items tag after I bought. Both of which I had with me at the time of return. She ended up returning the dress but only after being rude and giving me shit for taking the tag off. Dillards either needs to add to their return policy on the receipt that you need to have the tag ATTACHED, have their cashiers tell every customer upon checkout or put signs by the registers. It is a little crazy to me that she gave me so much trouble for something that was not made known to me. I do appreciate her still returning the dress but I don’t appreciate the attitude and the way she talked...
Read moreI have to preface this review by saying customer service is my business everyday. Because of this I hold others to a higher standard, especially a renowned iconic company like Dillard's. This experience was the WORST customer service I have ever received, and I despite Dillard's being a department store I frequent for my work attire, I will never shop there again.
I purchased a 119 dollar polo shirt from Dillard's. I noticed the next day I went to the mall that it was supposed to have been 65% off. I did not get my discount when I purchased the shirt.
I made a trip there yesterday, presented my receipt, shirt and credit card with ID to receive what I was due. When I explained the situation to the gentleman there (since I do not know his name: he was an older white gentleman with glasses) his attitude changed from friendly to apathetic. He said in-store credit was all he could provide. I asked to talk to his manager. "He is at lunch. It will be a long while" was his reply. I said I would wait. (It was 77.35 coming back to me, of course I would wait)
After 15 minutes of waiting in silence, I must have made him uncomfortable because he said, I'll just call the other manager.
I looked at him flabbergasted and asked why he wasn't called in the first place. The man stared at me and said flatly "I didn't want to bother him with this." I told him that I wanted to talk to that manager face to face now, but remained calm.
He picked up the phone called the manager, turned around and said something in a hushed tone, and then said loudly "Yes, yes sir. Got it."
He said, he is too busy to come see you. He told me in store credit is your only option.
What a nightmare. Never shopping at Dillard's again and I would not recommend...

We called Dillard’s corporate office no call from anyone, and theirs’ reviews are terrible the corporate office. Also, my family and I have been shopping with Dillards’ stores since the 80’s, my husband and I were so disappointed how these managers behaved toward us and they ignored and failed to take care of theirs’ customers! We will never purchased anything else from Dillard’s stores and we will cancel our Dillard’s credit cards as well! Dillards have gone down big concerning theirs’ loyalty and any customers! So, my husband and I give Dillard’s store at Penn square mall in Oklahoma City a 0 (zero). Update!!! My husband and I took the products back and got our money back from Dillard’s store at Penn Square Mall! We are so thankful that Jesus Christ favor us when the devil thought he had up again! No weapons forms against us will not prosper! Also, we cancel the Dillard credit card as well! We have spent so much money with this company who are prejudice toward African American people and these to new managers show theirs’ true color and unjust ways as well!
