We had an amazing experience at the Furniture Mall of Kansas! My boyfriend and I have very specific tastes and chose some unique pieces to try to work our new living room furniture around. Zach was incredibly patient with us and laughed at all of my jokes (basically how I judge all my sales people). We had an area rug and a large, four-panel painting that we wanted to make sure wouldn't look out of place so Zach dealt with us showing him a hundred pictures, he made some recommendations (we are a little indecisive...and by little I mean a lot) and also pulled in Micheli who instantly learned our tastes and helped us put together some really exciting swatches for our couch, ottoman and accent pillows. They spent HOURS with us. We are SO EXCITED to see everything put together. We will be going back for bedroom furniture. Their selection is great and very customizable. Also, the sales people are helpful and suggestive, but not pushy or aggressive.
Lastly, a shout out to THE BEST greeter on the planet. He was there on Thursday evening, 4/27 and also early today. His energy made me want to frolic through the store singing.
Update: I hate taking away stars, but the post-sales experience has been terrible. It is August and we STILL don't have all of the items that we custom ordered in late April. We have not received a single phone call about our items so we have had to call almost weekly to check-in. We finally demanded that our bed be brought separately as it was not custom and we were tired of waiting just so it could ship with everything else. The fabric for the ottoman and pillows were on backorder so the couch arrived 2 weeks before the ottoman. When they brought the couch (13ish weeks after ordering) I reminded them that I had matching pillows that they assured me would arrive with the ottoman. When I called a week later to check on the Ottoman and they did indeed have it in...not sure when they planned on letting me know...I reminded them about the pillows. Guess what? The ottoman arrived WITHOUT the matching pillows. They told us they would call but never did. When my husband called to check on them we found out that THE PILLOWS WERE NEVER MADE. Who knows when we will finally get them?!
We love out stuff, but I do not recommend trusting your custom orders to this place....

The only reason I am giving a 2 stars is because I have been having a such a huge problem with the payments of the furniture my fiance and I have bought over a YEAR ago. We had purchased 2 new items for our very first apartment. When we were there searching, we were helped, greeted, treated very kindly. They told us that once we had picked up all of the furniture, we would receive an email or possibly something in the mail giving us information about setting up payment arrangements since we were financing. This was our first time ever financing anything and I personally was always worried about financing anything just because my family had always had issues with this stuff, but because of how things were going smoothly, I gave it a try. We waited about a few weeks but nothing came through about payments. We called and asked about it, they told us to wait longer. I called again around 4-5 months after and a young lady told me I had to call whoever the furniture was being financed too (I guess they use outside sources? I'm new to all of this). She gave me three companies with their numbers to call. I called all three. One said hey have no idea, the two other had no record of mine or my fiance's name. At this point, I was getting frustrated because we just want to pay the furniture off that we were purchasing. It became 9 months, called again, but this time I was told I couldn't get the information because it only had my fiance's name on it. So I had my fiance call them, and again we were told there was nothing they could do. It's now been over year since we picked up the last piece of furniture from the store. We have not been able to get any help in this situation and it's really concerning us because we don't want this to hurt our credit or cause other issues. Nothing has shown up in collections/on our credit yet, but with how long it's been, it's been really unsure. So I guess the whole purpose of this review is be sure to have ALL information and know who to talk to, where your furniture is being financed through or simply pay it all up front. Read moreI was looking for a recliner sofa and love-seat. They had an excellent selection, the salesman was very helpful, we found what we wanted and ordered it. The sofa was a powered recliner, the love-seat was not powered.
They hit my credit card for the full amount right away even though the order would take six weeks. No biggie. Six weeks later I get the call to set up delivery, I check to verify what they are sending me and I discover they have the order mixed up - powered / non-powered were reversed. They offered to leave them anyway while the order was corrected which would take another 6 weeks. I declined and asked what they were going to do to compensate me for 12 weeks without the furniture. After some haggling they agreed to reimburse me 10% which they did.
Another 6 weeks go by and they call to set up delivery. I verify on the phone that the sofa is powered and the love-seat is not - they verify that everything is correct. When the delivery comes it's the wrong love-seat - this one has a cup-holder / table in the middle and is as long as the couch - was not what we ordered and will not fit. The sofa is the correct one but it has large metal spikes sticking out where the arm rest attaches.
I would think that after the screw up the first time and the fact that a customer has had to wait 12 weeks, SOMEONE would have checked and doubled-checked the accuracy of the order and the quality of the product.
Within a couple of days they sent a repairman by my house and he fixed the spikes coming out of the sofa - looks fine.
Today is Nov. 7 - I am still waiting for the love-seat I ordered back IN JUNE. I've heard nothing since the September order screw up. No call after the fact apologizing for messing up the order a second time and still no call as to when I can expect arrival of the love-seat.
To say I am less than impressed with the level of service would be an understatement.
Update - I called today - Nov. 10 - as it has been more than 6 weeks and the love-seat should be in? No one has ordered it yet....
