Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your rocking chairs and prepare for the culinary adventure of a lifetime! I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Cracker Barrel restaurant, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. Grab your oversized checkered napkin because here's my comical review:
Decor and Atmosphere: As I waltzed through the door, I was immediately transported to the charming universe of Cracker Barrel. The vintage store vibes are so strong you half-expect to stumble upon a hidden treasure chest with antique rocking horses, old-timey candy, and enough porch rocking chairs to start a retirement village. You'd think you've walked into your grandma's attic, but with more chintz.
Rocking Chairs Galore: I can't decide if I'm dining in a restaurant or a rocking chair emporium. The seating situation? Rocking chairs. The waiting area? More rocking chairs. They should call it "Rock-a-Barrel." I mean, who doesn't want to test-drive the seating before the main course?
The Menu: It's a Southern comfort food extravaganza, and I was ready to dive headfirst into an ocean of fried everything. If you've ever wondered if there's such a thing as "too much gravy," Cracker Barrel will answer that question for you with a resounding YES!
Grits, Biscuits, and Gravy: Cracker Barrel is to grits what Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory is to chocolate. They take grits to a level of creaminess that should probably be illegal. And their biscuits? Fluffier than a cloud hugging a marshmallow. Top that with gallons of sausage gravy, and you've got a biscuit swimming in a sausage hot tub.
The Gift Shop: It's not just a restaurant; it's a one-stop shop for everything you didn't know you needed. You'll leave with a Halloween costume, a banjo, a bejeweled jean jacket, and a "World's Best Grandpa" mug, even if you're not a grandpa.
Customer Service: The staff is as friendly as a room full of Golden Retrievers at a belly rub convention. And they keep the iced tea flowing like a river in a rainstorm. You won't find better sweet tea unless you have a Southern grandma on speed dial.
In summary, Cracker Barrel is a delightful blend of Southern comfort food, eccentric decor, and cozy rocking chairs. It's like your eccentric Aunt Mildred's house, but with a full-service restaurant attached. So, if you're ready to embark on a gastronomic journey that includes an excess of rocking chairs and more biscuits than you can shake a banjo at, then Cracker Barrel is your go-to...
Read moreFood was great. Waitress was great…, but while we were in the middle of eating we were interrupted by a rude manager. She pointed to a toy my little niece picked out and said we have to pay for it or she can keep it behind the register and that we “Aren’t supposed to do that , but that’s ok this time” wow …that’s very rude and unprofessional customer service. I’m already spending money on all the food and other stuff I was planning on buying. My little niece has autism and I was trying to keep her busy and planned on paying for it when I left. No big deal. When my son was small it was never a problem and I used to do this all the time. I have spent a lot of money in this restaurant and a small $3 toy they are going to come out, interrupt and lecture me?I would understand a high dollar item but it was a little light up toy…Wow just wow. Older lady, short grey hair. Way to get a bad review and lose out on future sales because that was absolutely uncalled for. Will not be coming back. Learn how to be more professional next time. I’ve worked retail over 20 years and I know that’s not the proper way to deal with customers. My husband runs a business and we would never treat anyone in such a way that would conflict future sales. You know nothing about business, customer service and you...
Read moreI got here too late to ask permission, but I parked overnight in their parking lot with my camper. When I woke up in the morning, I stepped inside to get breakfast and it felt like stepping into a little piece of southern heaven. I love the atmosphere of Cracker Barrels' country store. They were able to seat me very quickly and my server was very pleasant. She tackled the insurmountable task of keeping my sweet tea topped off. It almost felt like a game, but as quickly as I drained the glass, there was a pitcher filling it up. I asked if they still brought out biscuits and cornbread before the meal and she let me know that it was no longer standard, but that she would be happy to bring me out some biscuits and apple butter while I was waiting. I barely had time to enjoy the first biscuit I slathered their delicious apple butter on before they brought out the multi course meal that they call the "country boy breakfast." It's a good thing I sat down with an appetite because I was stuffed by the time I left. Every staff I interacted with was very friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was unbelievable. Thank you, ...
