Normally, I love to work out at Anytime Fitness, however, at this particular branch, I felt very unwelcome and I got the feeling that they are really not looking for long-term customers to come and work out on regular basis. To me it seems like they’re interested in snatching up your membership dues hoping that you don’t come in and actually use the facility. As I mentioned before normally I don’t have this opinion about many Anytime Fitness gyms but this one is something else in my humble opinion. The following reasons why I have this opinion, are explained by me in the following… (I listed them so I could stay on topic and be as organized with my thoughts as possible, which I’m not too great with, so please bare with me, and I’ll try to be as concise as possible.) For context I visited this gym on a Friday at around 8:45p.m. I was there to knock out my cardio (elliptical machine) and to do some strength training on my upper body. Unfortunately, when I do more than 30 minutes of cardio, I will become quite wet with perspiration, and on this particular evening, I was determined to meet my goal, and I sit for myself of 45 minutes cardio. After I completed this, I quickly wipe down the machine so that it would be clean for the next person, and then I started my strength routine, and I needed to use one of the benches, to complete my workout, so I used one of the three that were there, there was two open, so by no means was I hoggjng equipment. But this one gentleman who was from what I understand about exercise and physical fitness regimens was some one who was no stranger to regular exercise, and was very comfortable using much of the equipment with ease. For what ever reason I guess maybe that was his favorite bench or what ever I don’t know, but he kept on giving me the “hurry up vibes” like I was monopolizing his equipment, or possibly his regular area (mind you I was in the corner next to the restroom using one bench, necessary for my exercises, and their was 2 or 3 unused benches identical to one I was utilizing at the time. I know that this isn’t the fault of the gym, but it unfortunately gave me a feeling of unwelcomeness and like I was not the type of customer that should have been working out there. It made me feel pretty self conscious, but I was proud that I made it to my cardio goal and I was determined no matter what I was gonna knock out the rest of my goals for the gym session as well. So, when I was finished with this I stretched as quick as possibly less than five minutes and looked around to see how many other patrons were here. I did this because the last time I visited this particular gym, I tried to shower in the restroom on the left side of your back is facing the door, but I learned that the bathroom didn’t work, well not the shower anyway. I had assumed it was that one side only. So this time since I wasn’t the only person their enjoying a workout. I asked my fellow gym enthusiasts if they were planning on using the restroom facilities in the next couple minutes, because I had assumed that the one on the right was working, so I didn’t want to tie up the only working shower with out at least giving a heads up to everyone else out of common courtesy. Out of 6 people one lady answered, and she responded that she was fine. I explained that the last time I was here only one shower worked, and she said she was unaware of this as it wasn’t her “home” anytime fitness, so she was in the same boat as me, although we frequent this gym chain, it wasn’t the location that either of us frequent. Everyone else looked over at me, like I had asked them if they want to have some cottage cheese in a football helmet heated up on a bonfire, with sprinkles in it, placed on their Britney Spears concert poster rolled up like a burrito and than used to hit avocados I would be hurling at them like a softball game! So after all that I go into the DIRTY restroom, (thank God for shower shoes) and I go to put the shower on and it doesn’t work. The toilet works, and there is trash nearly...
Read moreStopped by to inquire about a membership about a week ago .I Was basically going to sign up no matter what because they have locations right next to my work and home which I loved. That was until I spoke with a man named Carlos ( I think. He actually gave me someone else's business card when I was asked for one). Well about 30 seconds into our conversation he was referring me to Planet Fitness. He than decided it was better if I tried every other gym around except for his. He referred me to a total of 4 other gyms within a 2 min conversation. The whole conversation was just extremely uncomfortable. He was very short and made me feel like the conversation was going no where. After the suggestion of the 4th gym I was over it. I decided it was just time to leave before I got more upset and let him have it. If you work for a gym I think you are supposed to sale memberships for that gym... right? This guy did not even offer to show me what all Anytime Fitness has to offer. I left with a very unsettling feeling. Why was this man not wanting to sell me a membership. No potential client should ever leave feeling the...
Read moreIf you are a member of Active and Fit, do NOT make this your home gym to enroll. My spouse stepped in with her document from active and fit to active her membership and they truly tried charging $35 for the fob. Mind you, I personally enrolled in the Castle Hills Location using Active and Fit. The owner of that location did not charge me for the fob nor mentioned anything that required additional payment aside from my active and fit membership document. Either this location is trying to scam people out of $35 a piece or I truly don't know. Just avoid this place if you are a member of Active and Fit. For business owner: "Highly recommended you either educate yourself about the program your gym is enrolled to offer services and hold some integrity instead of mindlessly charging when you don't need to be charging or simply remove your gym from participating in the Active and...
