Dear Mr. Buffett. I would just like to say thank you for what you have done for your families non-profit organizations. Your contributions have and will make changes in many people’s lives. Thank you for contributing to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as well. It must be a good feeling inside to know you worked so hard your whole life to compound each investment into another. What’s even greater is knowing you will help a lot of people restart there lives and going on to help others as well. You have provided me with the secret to happiness! It’s not what you have that matters. It’s what you do for others that matter most. Thank you and your family for all of your generosity towards our new revolving world. I am raising my son differently with lots of love and direction. Your kids want your love so much when growing up. I am giving what I did not get and it’s feels wonderful. Money is a tool that gets you the things you need. I bought my first home in 1995. Today I still live in the same house. I had a 2000 burgundy red Cadillac. My home keeps me warm in the winter and keeps me cool in the summer. I do not have a mortgage. My first credit card was an American Express green card. I never wanted to use it during college because I was scared to have a bill at the end of the month. I have been in the Military as a 1LT. US Army Infantry. Since I retired from the Military, I have worked for several organizations but was never happy. I started my own businesses and was very happy to get up in the morning to seize the day. I started several other businesses that needed my services. I always could foresee a niche and would focus hard before I started, during and after the sale of the companies. It seemed much easier to hire myself than to work for someone else. For all that is reading this expression from my heart today. Anyone can do anything they want in this wonderful Country. FOCUS on what you love and don’t take any short cuts. There are no short cuts to success. Do what you love and you will never work a day again in your wonderful life. Thank you for reading this and I challenge all people to help each other. That is the secret to happiness. Step in and help someone you don’t know. What a way to leave this World knowing you helped others that will help others. Thank you for your time Mr.Buffett and Congratulations on a truly professional job you have done with your family and the World! Love,...
Read moreDear Berkshire Hathaway Team,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Ashutosh Singh, and I am writing to express my deep admiration and respect for Warren Buffett, who has been a tremendous source of inspiration in my life.
I come from a lower-middle-class background in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India, and I have been investing in the Indian stock market since I turned 20, just like Mr. Buffett did in his early years. His philosophy and approach to investing have had a profound impact on my investment journey.
I am aware of the incredible success and wisdom that Mr. Buffett has amassed over the years, and I am eager to learn more from him. I believe that his insights could help me navigate the world of investing more effectively and achieve my financial goals.
If there is any way I could have the privilege of a conversation with Mr. Buffett, even if it's a brief one, it would mean the world to me. I understand the demands on his time, especially given his age, and I am willing to make any necessary arrangements to make this possible. Meeting Mr. Buffett in person has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I would be forever grateful if it could become a reality.
Please let me know if there is any possibility of arranging a meeting or if there are any upcoming events or opportunities where I could learn from Mr. Buffett's wisdom.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I truly appreciate your consideration.
Warm regards,

Read moreAt 8:45 Sunday morning, May 3rd, 2015, we were enjoying the beautiful Spring fresh air on our townhouse balcony when a loud rumbling sound announced the arrival of an asphalt scraper in the Kiewit parking lot. The driver started to scrape off asphalt, with its toxic dust blowing everywhere. Sunday morning is an odd time to start repair work on a parking lot, given that this is not an industrial park. Living, breathing human beings live around it and the church across the street has been given the use of said parking lot for Sunday morning worshipers. This did not deter the Layman Paving Company, employed by Kiewit. Over our objections, it continued its work, covering the workers who were not wearing masks (!), the church-going owners of the cars, and us with asphalt dust (which contains silica, known to cause lung disease in humans). In fact, the worker in charge called the police after we complained about the work being done so early on a Sunday, with no notice given to residents so they could close their windows and get off their balconies. This tactic was the worst form of bullying. In effect it said, "So you want to complain about our ruining your lungs? Then we'll call the police and that should shut you up." The Kiewit Company considers itself to be the gold standard in construction but in their treatment of their neighbors they don't come close to any civilized...
