This is a restaurant in a boutique hotel charging boutique prices while acting as though customers are a burden to them. Beautiful atmosphere - unfortunate attitudes.
Here for an overnight & hanging by the pool this afternoon, a Sunday in mid July. I was directed to Orleans Room for food by pool attendant since the pool food options were closed. Pool attendant had indicated both lunch & brunch menu was available. Walked in about 20mins prior to them closing. Front desk projected major confusion about where to order pool to-go food - after being pushed toward the kitchen window, I was finally directed to the bar where I was told it would be a long wait since the bartender had other tables. 10 mins later - she approached me about ordering and then scoffed when I indicated I wanted food. A bit more indignation from bartender since it was only brunch & I quickly pivoted to review brunch menu and decide. I placed an order for avocado toast at a time stamped 1:55p. I was told it would be 10 mins. My husband offered to pick it up since it had taken me 15mins just to order. When he went inside, he approached the bar & someone redirected him to the kitchen window for pickup. He was told there were 10+ orders ahead of him and to “check back”. He checked back - 5 times - only to be told at 2:35 it wasn’t in queue. I went back inside to understand. Miraculously, the bartender had the food. Front desk didn’t know this and sheepishly admitted so. Bartender let me know that it was my fault ;) for the confusion. Front desk apologized, which I appreciated, but the entire situation could have been handled with a great deal more professionalism. They should have a to-go ordering process for the many guests at the pool & better communication between the team so that customers aren’t chasing their own orders. If it is a staffing resource issue - management should take ownership to better support...
Read moreEdit: including 2nd half off review which was the unique Thanksgiving experience, but including photos from our quite regular lunch, excursions to the Orleans’s room. It really is always a nice respite during the day with good quality food and quick service to get you in and out and to your next meeting. One of our favorite spots here in town and quite close to my work, so I go there for lunch when I can get a chance over there. The review here is for their Thanksgiving Lunch/ dinner. It is simply set up as a buffet, we made our reservations through Resy, the food was amazing. A special shout out to the mashed potatoes! We usually do a big Thanksgiving at home, but circumstances had us going out, and this was definitely the best choice! We were the first reservation slot of the day and things were very very quiet. They had some decorations already up for Christmas. Nothing like they have now a couple weeks later, but it’s that time of year to see up. The food was great not too much to choose from, but everything you need in a good Thanksgiving meal. And the best part about it was not doing the dishes! I recommend this place any day of the week, but our Thanksgiving meal was all the more special here at the Orleans room located in the Cottonwood Hotel. Cost was...
Read moreThe Orleans Room is a chic French restaurant located in the Cottonwood Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska. The restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience with a menu that changes seasonally to reflect the freshest ingredients available.
We recently visited The Orleans Room for their exclusive Whisky & Wine Tasting event. We were able to taste several different whiskies and wines. The whiskies were all very smooth and flavorful, and the wines were perfectly paired with the charcuterie board that was served.
The live music by Grace Titus was a wonderful addition to the event. Grace is a talented singer-songwriter who performed a mix of jazz, blues, and folk songs. Her music was the perfect accompaniment to the whiskies and wines, and she really set the mood for the evening.
Overall, we had a great experience at The Orleans Room's Whisky & Wine Tasting event. The food, drinks, and music were all excellent, and the service was top-notch. We would definitely recommend this event to anyone looking for a unique and...
