I was referred to Heriter by a friend. I could not be more impressed. I have now returned for my third purchase. My first purchase, a blue diamond for my personal ring, included a Q&A session where they asked what I wanted and what I was trying to accomplish. They weren't trying to sell me on what they had, but rather trying to ascertain what I truly needed and what I would be ecstatic to wear. He then went and found the perfect stone and for a price that was much lower than what others had quoted me. I enjoyed the experience enough that when my wife's ring needed appraising and servicing, I again called Heriter. I was not disappointed. They met me in their office and provided me with pricing as well as time estimates. Within days, I was called to tell me I had a loose stone (which I knew) and what the cost to repair it was. They returned the ring within a week rhodium dipped, stones tightened, and looking better than new. The price was exactly what they said it would be. A few weeks ago, I decided it was time to purchase my wife a 20-year anniversary present. I had no idea what I wanted to buy. I set down with their team and had many discussions about goals, stones, budget, and desired outcomes. A few weeks later, we met and was presented with amazing stones, different setting options, and their designer. I was awestruck at what was in front of me at their price point. I am so excited to be working with this team. I am so happy with how my three purchases have turned out. The only problem is now I want to purchase a fourth stone (A green diamond! I didn't even know they came in green) and my wife is going to kill me if I don't buy...

They made a lovely custom rainbow color ring for me—but with much ado. I sent over my idea for the piece I wanted, and they mocked up a 3D model and claimed over email that they were able to create a perfect match. However, when I arrived in person (they operate only outside of regular business hours, strangely enough, 4pm-10pm and 10am-10pm on weekends), the ring they handed me was not the ring I approved over email. The setting was good, but the jeweler had taken creative liberties with the colors of the piece, and tried to charge me even more shop labor to correct their mistakes. I only learned in person that there was a color entirely missing, even, and no one had asked me what color I would like to replace it with. They also never answered me about which labs my sapphires came from and seemed surprised at the question, so I suspect most of their clientele don’t usually ask about sourcing.

Everyone I spoke with was very polite, and heeded most of my requests, but none of the communication happened up front, so the experience felt a bit like pulling teeth. And the explanations offered to me were delivered somewhat condescendingly. I have since visited another local jeweler for other work, and the stark contrast in customer service leads me to recommend that if anyone is considering Heriter Gems, go to Sidrony...
