Normally i really like this store but they recently did me dirty. Went to buy an Eldrazi Incursion commander deck. I went there only because at the time, they were the only place to have it in stock. When i went to purchase the item, i realized it was priced higher ($140) than what I’ve seen online. I asked them about that and the manager said the cards in that deck are already worth more than what they’re selling it for. Thats how he justified the price. Which is weird cuz you dont buy the cards individually for a pre-con commander deck. You know they got it from their supplier at a big discounted cost. So that was upsetting to hear. Then i also had a fully punched out card to get 20% off a single item. When I presented the card, they said they wouldn’t accept it. They fed be a bunch of BS about how its a rare commander deck and not only will they not take my 20% off punch card, they also wouldn’t award me any punches on a new card for what i spent on that deck. So at the time i was upset and extremely disappointed in what seemed to me that they were shafting me left and right. So spoiler, despite all that i still bought the deck cuz i was desperate and wanted to play it that night with buddies. So all that was bad enough. Then the next day i input all those cards into MTG Goldfish to see what its actually worth. Remember the guys said the cards were worth more than what they’re were selling it for at $140. Once i inputted all the cards, the deck was listed at a worth of $105. So what they said to me was a bold faced lie. Then to make matters worse for them, the next day a buddy of mine said he found the same eldrazi commander deck at a game shoppe in town for $85. He verified with pictures. So that means Dragons Lair was selling the deck for about $50 more than they should be and lied to my face about the value of everything. Then wouldnt take my full punch card and not give me any new punches.
Like i said before, i normally really enjoy this place and have good experiences. This time however, was rough to say the least and i feel wronged on how they vastly overpriced them item, then lied to me about the value. I will give this place another chance but thats a major...
Read moreThe dude named Bo that wears the old dirty transformers hat is rude by constantly just staring at his phone and acting like it's such a bothersome task for a customer to ask to buy a pack of cards from behind the counter he's sitting also pretty unprofessional for a business to hire workers that then talk badly about said customers who are not only on the spectrum but also just a KID this didn't happen to me I just witnessed it while I was looking at cards and was honestly disgusted by how disrespectful he acted towards the kid so I won't be returning to dragons lair or recommending anyone else to go there especially when there's better comic book and card stores like legends coffee and cafe monster that exist but I'll tell you what if y'all keep hiring people like Bo then I bet you'll definitely reach the goal of staying a small business or...
Read moreCame in with my son today because he wanted to buy some comics. Went to the counter to ask if they had the new Marvel cards made by Topps. Dude behind the counter literally laughed at me and in a scoffing tone (picture mean girls) said “ummm noooo we don’t carry anything by topps we just do magic the gathering and stuff like that” A normal reaction would just be a polite tone “No sorry we don’t have those” But this rude guy mockingly laughs at me like I just came in asking for football or basketball stuff. It’s a comic book shop so it’s not that weird for me to ask for Marvel comic book cards. It was some withered looking dorky middle aged loser in glasses and a cap. The other bald dude kind of took over and was polite and tried to smooth things over with a genuine response and I do appreciate that. But I’ll be taking my...
