I'm a big fan of the Revival House in Des Moines, so you can imagine how delighted I was to have one open in my neighborhood. No one should have a concern for parking in Blackstone when they come here because the building has a parking garage within it that uses the OmaPark app. This Revival house is a bit different than the one in DM as the street front side has glass "garage doors" that open to the outside giving the feel of even more room to this already spacious place. This will be fantastic on those rare Omaha nice weather days. The bar side of the place is very reminiscent of the DM bar. There is no food served here, but they invite you to bring in any food items that you wish. The way in which the seating is constructed, this place works nicely for anywhere between one at the bar or a dozen in their group areas. Probably would be nice of you to call them in advance if you are bringing a crowd so that they can guarantee a great experience for your group. And what a great experience it is! So far, I've been treated to incredible hospitality by the staff. The emphasis here is on a bright, fun atmosphere where you and your mates can relax and enjoy yourselves. The cocktails are good, and considering the limited rum selection and adherence to classics, quite remarkably effective. I'm a fan of their frozen mai tai and their zombie. Here's to some great...
Read moreThis new spot in Blackstone is visually a trip to Miami. It’s funky, bright, textured, and ethereal in design. The tiki-inspired seating is fun, but they are not currently well set up for large groups, which we were. Service is not overly attentive, but checked in every once in a while. The menu features a few unique options, but I think the lack of any small bites is quite a setback! Fun to pregame with friends, but for social gatherings that last a bit longer, it would be great to have even a few simple options. Personally, it felt a bit pretentious, trying to be the cool kid on the block. I expected a bit more after the hype I had to come visit! I’ll definitely give it another shot since it is such a unique environment and fun to bring friends to, but I think Flagship locations such as Ghost Donkey draw me in a bit more with a more focused menu and vibe. Try it out for yourself and...
Read moreMy husband and I’s first time there as it just opened, we sat at the bar and we where planning on ordering our third set of drinks, I make my way to the restroom and when I come back they had taken my seat from next to my husband, he said no one bothered to ask if someone was sitting with him, they just took it! He said he saw someone in all white walk down the isle where the restrooms where with a chair, I was so upset because there was no more room to seat elsewhere as the place was starting to get packed with people. This upset me enough to not bother ordering more drinks, throughout the time we where there we did notice employees removing chairs but they where empty which was understandable but not a seat next to someone; the decency is to ask if someone is occupying the seat not this...
