Came in to return an amazon package- I have been in a few times just for this same reason. To return amazon packages. I was given a coupon and decided to shop around for a little bit with my husband due to the holiday season. Everything seemed fine until check out. I had the coupon from my amazon return (they give you a coupon typically with your return to prompt you to shop in the store), and I found 2 things for my holiday season to purchase. The women at the front asked for my phone number to see if I had Kohl's savings. I had never shopped there before, nor ever made a purchase there. So I was aware I didnt have any sort of rewards. Kohls is not a place I frequent, just a place I do my amazon returns from time to time on the rare occasion I need to do a return. I asked the women "Do I need to give my number for the purchase?" I just wanted to do this purchase and didnt over-explain. The lady became angry and then did not even scan the coupon- she just grabbed my things rang them and stated "These you wont even be able to use the coupon with anyways.....". Then advised me aggressively to sign up then for the rewards. At this point her rude demeanor was clear. I don't know WHAT kind of kickback or what they get for getting people to sign up- but she was clearly very mad when I again stated "No I dont want to put in my phone number or sign up." She threw around my items and to be honest I even thought about just telling her no- since I didnt want to waste my money on stuff she just wanted to throw around cuz I didnt want to give my phone number. Conveniently, the POS system went down, she aggressively grabbed my bag of items and hurried me over to another register, throwing it around haphazardly, no care of the items I was just about to pay for. I rang out with her- she then didnt say "bye" or anything to close out kindly the transaction with us. Just handed me the bag and we left. Like, I get the holidays suck to work around. But dang, this women there really needs to learn manners and have some better customer service. Maybe being nicer would of got my phone number to sign up. Acting like a child when a customer refuses to give out their info REALLY makes me NOT want to shop...
Read moreI was not particularly pleased with how my check out was handled. First of all, it was hard for me to understand what your associate was asking me. So after I asked her to repeat a couple times, I figured out that she wanted me to use my Kohls charge. I said I would but haven't used it for awhile. She said she needed to see my driver's license which I felt strange, but I got out my wallet which she immediately took away from me and removed my license herself. I do not appreciate people touching my personal property without my permission. Then, without explanation, she told me to type in my social security no. Which, again I felt uncomfortable doing so. She quickly rang up my 2 purchases and without my signing anything or explaining what was happening, she said (and, again I had to ask her to repeat to me a couple times what she was saying), I was told I was done and could go. I felt very rushed out of the store and never did get to use my gift cards totaling $50. I will be back but will never have her check me out again. However, Mary in shoes was of...
Read moreWorst customer service. Was approached 4 times in less than 10 minutes by what I assumed was a loss prevention employee, who was wearing a name tag. Their story was they were looking for a lost pair of pants, whatever that means. Mentioned this to the cashier and was told they don't have loss prevention at this location, the internet should have fun with that information, and there were no employees near me, not sure how she knew that not knowing where in the store I was. Simply said just thought a manager should know as it was obvious what they were doing and it was very rude. The cashier lost her temper and said she was a manager and that I should leave. If she was a manager then I could see why no loss prevention employees wants to work there. The worst part for me was the high pressure sales pitch she gave my mom, multiple times during checkout. Nobody wants your credit card with 35% interest lady. They need some training. The store was clean...
