I will never consign with them again. I came in right when they opened. They told me the wait would be Approx. 45 min to 1 hour. Then I call back an hour later and they tell me it will be an additional 45 min to 1 hour. This continues until it had been 4 hours and I finally just began waiting by the counter. I walked into the store and saw that they had gone through several bins that day when they still hadn’t finished mine. None of those people had brought in their items before me. The girl who was going through my things literally stopped every 2 seconds to organize hangers or something. My toddler can crawl across that place faster than she moves. She was also just really unprofessional in general which annoyed me. Another employee apologized and said it’s really just a guesstimate, that they were short staffed that day and very busy. Here’s the thing I understand making an educated guess based off of these factors that you as an employee have no control over. However there is a different between making an educated guess and straight up lying to people. I don’t live very close and I had my daughter who is under 1 year with me. If they had told me to come back at the end of the day I would have just gone home at that point instead of waiting around and it would have been worth it. It’s literally that simple, don’t mislead people and beat around the bush. Transparency is important with any business. This was my first time going and it was really more of a test run to see what items they take and what their process is like. I own an online boutique, I receive pallets of brand new with tags, name brand, clothing like free people that are current within that same year. I need to keep things moving so I have room for new product. At this point I could sell these items for a penny and it would technically still be a profit. It really doesn’t matter to me where is goes. I thought I would go support someone local but with the convenience of online consignment stores there is no reason to inconvenience myself like this again. My time is more valuable than anything and I think most people can agree with that. Thanks...
Read moreCalled twice before I came in just to make sure I had some of what they would want to buy for consignment. I had brand new boots, Nike shoes, and 1/3 of the clothes all brand new never even been worn. The rest have been worn very lightly as I went through the bags myself multiple times before going. Keep in mind I do not live close so that is why I called them twice to make sure. I saw their list of brands they want and have several upon several of those brands of clothing that i brought in. They ended up taking not a single thing out of the two giant bags and box I brought in. told me "it's worn and has pet hair and isn't in style and either over 2 years old. Funny cause I don't have ANY pets, a portion of the clothes and the shoes have never even been WORN. I understand I came later in the day but it's just because I don't live close. I walked around the store and was excited because I saw a ton of the same types of things that I have brought in. they took maybe 10 minutes to go through probably about over 100 items.. which I highly doubt.. and told me "we can't take anything it's either too old, worn, or pet hair. and that's when I knew they probably barely even went through it. I'm very disappointed and I was very optimistic about this place but i would just stay far away, this place is a joke. I've taken several things to their sister company platos closet so I'm not dumb and I know what they will and won't take and i wouldnt bring old dirty clothes up there. I've done business with platos for years. Style Encore is such a joke and I'd avoid going at night if you're going to go to this business.
Edit: I've noticed no one has left good reviews for consignment with Style Encore. Maybe with all the complaints yall should do something and take them seriously. sad it seems yall ignore people's reviews because yall still doing the same thing. What a...
Read moreI was super excited to stumble upon this store the other day. I didn't even know it existed until a couple days ago. I bought a few things, the owner (or one of the men working)was kind of creepy but over all I thought it was a good experience. So I decided to try and sell some of my stuff. I walked in with 3 totes of what I thought was cute, trendy items. Some I thought may not pass the test, but everything else surely would. WOW !! WAS I WRONG! They took 3 or 4 items out of several I brought in. A few dresses, brand new boots, and some Nike Air Max's. They gave me $30.01. Not good. They make it sound before you bring in your items that selling is easy. They don't tell you that they only take older brands (Talbotts, C.J.Banks, Gap). It was my first time selling , so I asked her to explain why they didn't want some of the items that seemed completely appropriate for this store. She said 'we are very picky'. That's all fine and well, but the slightest wrinkle in a shoe, or tiny, I'm talking miniscule little scratch they say no. Seriously?! The don't want trendy things I guess. She said no Target, H&M, Forever 21, stuff. It certainly is not worth lugging a bunch of items in. If it doesn't have the original price tag on it, or you've worn it more than twice don't bother. Very...
