Hobby Lobby — Local services in Orange City

2025:

I visited the store today (August 6th) and I see there are some envious older white women working here and who can't understand why I have a beautiful tan and they just get sun burned. Poor souls.

2025:

Today (April 25th, 2025), at around 2pm, I visited the store and a CAUCASIAN female employee recognized me from a restaurant I work at. She didn't miss the opportunity to ask another guest about his graduation. She, as most of her people, assumes I didn't finish high school, because I'm Hispanic and work at a restaurant. These are recurrent attacks I endure from her people and even from other people who often hang out with her people.

I will continue to visit the store, but next time this incident happens I will post the name of the employee that gets stupid like that.

2021:

I love coming to Hobby Lobby and have been doing so for a few years now. The one star rating is because today (April 26th, 2021), at around 5pm, I came in and couldn't find the Mason jar that I wanted. It took me a bit of thinking because I was debating whether I should buy one of the jars available on the shelf or go somewhere else. As I was browsing other places on my phone, a Caucasian woman who appeared to be a manager, looked at me as if I was suspicious. Didn't smile or ask me if I needed help finding something... I hope she didn't think I look suspicious because I'm Hispanic, dressed in black and wearing a...

Great place to go if you want to be falsely accused of shoplifting and have 4 cops called on you! I went in with my sister and she purchased some candy from there and was eating it while walking around the store she didn’t finish it and asked me to put it in her bag so I did and we kept looking around. Eventually she found something else she wanted to buy and we made our way to the front to purchase. The managers Tiffany, Vee, and Jeyi made sure to wait until after taking more of our hard earned money to accuse us with 4 police officers to back them up and search our bags. They claimed another customer saw us shove something in our bag and after getting searched the only thing they found was the candy from earlier. I am sure if they would’ve checked the cameras before calling the cops they would’ve seen that nothing was taken but I guess they had nothing better to do that day! I used to come here on a near weekly basis for craft supplies and now I will never set foot in this...

This place was pretty much a go-to for me until they got rid of the printmaking supplies. Also, the paint section isnt that good. Nobody likes Master's Touch paint and products, they're really bad. And there's only like 2 acrylic paint brands to choose from. Now I have to say, Liquitex paints are pretty good and i buy those from here because they have a good range of colors. I'd just like to see higher quality acrylic paints. The watercolors here are pretty good in terms of selection and quality, but they are very expensive and the tube is pretty small. Also, I cant find any marker paper anywhere. It would be cool if that was something this store had. I love the selection of canvases. There are a good amount of paintbrushes (even though half of the selection isn't very high quality and the bristles fall out). The store itself is pretty cool and it's nice to see all the furniture and plates and crafts when you walk in. Very nice...
