Have been dying to try this place, have seen the hype and when it first opened it had amazing reviews, so today after a longggg day and sports practices I thought let’s try it.. We placed an order online 7pm Wednesday night, said order would be ready by 7:30. We ordered boneless ribs (which were like pork chop chunks in very sweet sauce), asked for the rice with no veggies, we also ordered sesame chicken, orange chicken, and lo mein..$60.xx When we got there at 7:40 to pick up, the lady at the cashier said “I don’t know if they called you but we don’t have orange chicken” So in place of the orange chicken We ordered beef instead.. waited from 7:45pm to 8:10pm for my order…. I understand the whole 3 burners in the kitchen situation but someone should've called me to tell me you don’t have what I ordered. A quick simple call would’ve avoided an extra 25mins wait. My kids sat in the car tired and starving for 25mins because someone did not call me to tell me they were out of something… When we got home we realize our lo mein is completely missing from the bag, the sesame chicken had no sesame, the chicken and sauce were both white and pale and it looked like it was imitation chicken. Definitely not your standard “sesame chicken” if anything it looked more like a garlic chicken (see picture below). My dad literally eats anything and everything and he said the chicken was bad, not exaggerating but he spit it out. The rice we wanted “plain” had tons of veggies, chunks of ham and pork (so for y’all non-pork eaters be aware) My parents had the beef and they said it was good but I think it was bland. The fries and the tostones were good … When we called the restaurant, the lady on the phone was very nice and helpful. She explained all of their rice comes “fully loaded” and they don’t offer plain fried rice, she also apologized about the way the chicken looked and said that that’s how they make it there . As for the lo mein, she offered to make the order for me to pick up or she offered a refund. We took the refund which was done in minutes. I’m really disappointed. I’ve waited for months for them to open, they finally opened and the hype was crazy so I waited for the hype to “die down”, I waited over an hour from the time I placed my order to when I received it and it was not worth it ! Not at all what I was expecting it to be. Wish I would’ve read the reviews from few weeks ago before going… I’m really bummed out. Maybe after they move and get more than 3 burners the food will...
Read moreUpdate: I want to update my experience with Borichino. I went to visit the restaurant like 2 weeks ago. It's a small but cozy place, and I really liked it. The food was much better than the first time I tried it. I ordered from them again today, and now I can definitely say... for me and my taste, their rice is the best rice in Central Florida...and better than in many places in Puerto Rico. I even told them they need to add shrimp to the rice! Lol ... I'm in love with this place now!!!
Old Post: I recently ordered from Borichino Restaurant, a delightful spot blending Chinese cuisine with a Puerto Rican twist. The overall experience was positive, and I'd certainly recommend giving it a try.
First, the rice stood out with its good flavor, although I found it needed just a touch more salt to be perfect. It's a minor tweak, but worth mentioning for those who like a bit more seasoning.
Next, I ordered tostones with garlic, expecting the usual tostones generously covered in garlic. However, what I received were regular tostones with garlic sauce served on the side. While this was still tasty, it was a bit of a letdown since they charge extra for the garlic. For future orders, I hope they clarify this or adjust the preparation to meet expectations.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the boneless spare ribs. They were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, making them a standout dish that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting. Additionally, the portion size of this combination was just right, ensuring a satisfying meal without being overwhelming.
Despite the minor issues, the overall quality of the food and the unique blend of flavors make Borichino worth a visit. I plan to return, but next time I will visit the restaurant in person to experience it fully.
Borichino has a lot of potential and offers a fresh take on Chinese cuisine with a local twist that is both intriguing and delicious. Definitely...
Read moreFirst things first. Do not advertise the open time to be 11 am because you do not open at 11 AM. I went to try the food and that was the first strike. If you are not going to be ready for your customers, then open at 12 PM. So I waited the half hour along with another customer that was there first. The screen was flickering, so it was going black. There was no way on reading the menu, and nobody cared to offer a printed one, which I found out after a while. Then the owner ( I am assuming) came outside to the line saying that he opened to do us a favor so we didn't have to wait outside. Excuse me? It is a brand new restaurant, again if you are not going to be ready, then open later. You were not doing any favors to your new customers. First impressions count. That is in no way shape or form acceptable. You must be on time Always. Let's rate the food. They claimed the rice was fresh, but they were making a huge pile of it with what they claimed had eggs, ham, pork, onions. Which I later realized I couldn't even see or taste. They were also claiming that the chicken was fresh, the fries and the fried plantains. Well, guess what? They had a bin of fries, chicken and fried plantains just like KFC and Popeyes. Freshly made is to order, not already fried. Lets rate the wait time, not couting the half hour waiting outside. I was the second person to order and I waited 1/2 hour. Yes! Half hour more. For a 3 piece fried chicken combo, 2 egg rolls and garlic chicken. So when I got home, 7 minutes to be exact. The garlic sauce was gooey and so white that it tasted and looked aweful. Fried chicken was ok. Fries were all soggy, rice tasteless and egg rolls, don't even get me started. So if you are waiting for real puerto rican chinese food, please do not go there because you will be dissapointed 100%. I have not rated in a while, but I could not let it...
